All promotions rotate between the supermarkets, One week ASDA will have a promo end, few weeks later same end will be in Morrisons and vice versa.0

Morrisons is going downhill FAST!! We've made a number of complaints recently but this new points card really takes the biscuit!
So here's an example of how this card actually rips you off...
I buy at least 1 x 2L Pepsi Max a week. Now Asda or Morrisons usually have this at £1 a bottle. At the moment Asda is still £1 but Morrisons is £1.98.
Morrisons have the cheek to charge you double but give you 100 points. If I bought 1 bottle each week for a year at the Morrisons price of £1.98 that equals £102.96. Asda would cost me £52. But it's ok because the additional £50.96 I have forked out is cancelled out by the 52 x 100 points - a whole £5 voucher.
Only if you're ignoring the price matching.
The 100 "More" points are on top of the "Match" points you get for your shopping being cheaper elsewhere.
So if your shopping comes to £15 or more, you'll get 980 points for the difference in price, plus the extra 100 points advertised for a total of 1080. Over 52 weeks, that's 56160 points for 11 £5 vouchers - £55 (with 1160 points left over)
It's not going to work out that way of course, as the 100 More points won't last all year.0 -
The trick with the Hardy's Stamp wines is still working - on both red and white in my local Morrison's, although the sign advertising 2000 More points has now disappeared so I wouldn't be surprised if the offer stops soon.
Just bought a bottle of each, plus a pack of 4 Cornettos (400 More points). Total spend: £16.49. Total points: 8910. Net cost £7.48.
Not bad for two bottles of wine and four ice creams.
I take back my disparaging comments earlier in the thread.0 -
Can anyone explain how the vouchers are distributed, I had 4900 points this week, went shopping on Sunday and picked up a few items that would push me over the 5000 points threshold but didnt get any kind of till spit for the £5, will I get that on my next shop, is it given to you on the next shop once you go over?
Thanks:beer:0 -

I'm still confused. I was given a temp M+M card in store which I have just registered online. Also put the App on my phone.
There is a weekly offer now to save £25 on christmas shop, you must spend min £40 a week from now for the next 6 weeks. Will be given a voucher in store each week which must be presented to claim the christmas shop discount.
But surely this info is all now stored along with the M+M card? So why do we still need to save the weekly vouchers and take them back to the store?
A lot of hassle it seems.
And the discount vouchers which came through the door appear to have stopped too.0 -

Much as I have sympathy for Morrisons, which seems unfairly criticised in the media I feel, its now looks like it is panicking and throwing a mess of promotional ideas against the wall, hoping some will do the trick.
It's all getting too complicated. Life for most people is too busy to waste worrying about points here, coupons there. It's a confusing mess - as this thread is demonstrating.
As Lidl's infamous ad points out - it's a lot easier just to go there and have done with it. Not liking Lidl, I don't, but it hit the nail right on the head..0 -

Lower prices rather than increasing gimmicks...
now there's an idea!:cool:0 -
This makes me laugh. When Morrisons took over Safeway they scrapped the ABC loyalty card, introduced £! coins for the trolleys, and reduced opening hours. They have now gone back on all three. How could they get it so wrong.
Trust me, its not just the things that you have mentioned, there are loads of things behind the scenes that they ditched when they took over, and have now suddenly realised that actually that was good and worked, and now 10 years later are slowly fetching back, and some of the things are very expensive to be fetching back as well!!Take every day as it comes!!0 -
I got my card but was dubious about picking up items that i know are way cheaper in Aldis in case I dont get the price match at till. Does it only work with products marked morrisons own.0
