Watch out for the bird seed or dog poo ideas.

Could result in either a charge for criminal damage or you could come home to find the same thing happen to your car some night.

A simple metal parking post will stop this

Presumably your fellow residents are suffering as you.

Have a chat with them, and the owner of the land, if such there is, to see about clubbing together to fit lockable droppable posts.

Those who cheered (probably these offenders) when the clampers were outlawed forgot that for every cowboy clamper, there's hundreds of people who will dump there car anywhere they like if nothing hits them in the pocket to stop them, and the meek and mild will not inherit the earth.

I agree with the others, whilst you make it easy for others to bully you, and that's exactly what this is, they will do so.

We live in a similar location, have a shop nearby too and people often park either blocking our car in or else on the drive outside our house leaving us to wait/ find somewhere else to park until they are done or block them in. There is actually plenty of parking nearby for us it just seems some people are completely thoughtless when it comes to parking their cars.

In your case a post does sound the best option, we've always carried on as you have, polite/notes ect but it does become frustrating at times.

Problem with stuff like this is once you give them an inch, they get a false sense of entitlement and can be a nightmare to stop.

A few years back, a friend of mine moved into a house a year after the previous owner had passed away, the previous owner had no car and and used to let the neighbour use his driveway. It took over 12 months to stop the neighbour parking there and not without getting the Police involved on several occasions.

Do the private residence have a private notice sign before they enter I would erect one of those.


putting bird seed on their car for one is not a good idea, even though they parked in the wrong place, if someone gets wind your the one that's oing it out of the three residents, you could be done for criminal damage, plus a full respray could set you back £2000k on some cars even more.


blocking them in would be my choice, and when they call your number, tell them: 1.i'll move for you this time but next time catch the bus home next time I wont move it after this goodwill gesture.
2.I am completely stoned sorry cant drive, and giggle your head off saying mannn catch the busss dude!.
3.tell them how would you like it if park my car in your garden and block your access.


rinse repeat. then get neighbors to pitch in to pressure landlord to buy a gate or buy a chain and post, erect signage.
