Scottish Power -- the only way to get a bill is by leaving them....

Had awful trouble with SP who are unable to set up my gas account because their £200 million computer has the hump. I have been on at them since May and it is now with the Ombudsman.
However, I spoke to a nice lady today (only 50 mins. wait) who told me that if I leave for another company, they can make up a final bill and I can then pay up. You couldn't make it up.

Well if you have put the money aside each month then when the bill finally arrives you will have enough to pay for it.
You then argue with them for a good discount for all the inconvenience. You are not just paying for gas and electric, but for an overall service. If they have not delivered said service thus you are entitled to some recompense.0 -
I am not with Scottish Power, but here is a funny story that might make you all smile.
Knock on the door today/yesterday (Wednesday), Guy from Scottish power, wanting us to switch. I say, "we've just done it, through Moneysavingexpert.com, and moved to Eon"
He says "well, the thing with MoneySavingExpert.com is, they sold their site for £12m to MoneySuperMarket (actually 87m), and they are paid to push their products"
He was somewhat stumped when I said Scottish Power are also featured on there. And they came up as being more expensive. He then said, "oh ok" and basically agreed the Eon fix I got, was a good deal, he couldn't beat it, off he went!
But all the BS about Moneysavingexpert and MoneySupermarket, what a load of tosh!Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -
I'm in the process of leaving Scottish Power.
I just couldn't stand the awful customer service anymore. I've already put in a complaint and my online account is still showing the incorrect amount, as does there automated phone balance check.
They are simply unable to sort out their IT problems causing the phone lines to be jammed with customer complaints with waiting times of up to 1 hour and then getting through to the wrong department or cut off!
Enough is enough!
Bye bye Scottish Power.0 -

Yes, it is beyond belief now, they never used to be half this bad.0 -
I am so glad I didn't go with anything, not that he actually offered, but I have since seen on here, lots of people are unhappy. Probably why they are going door to door!Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

Hoof Hearted. But do Sp know u have a complaint lodged with Ombudsman? As i was told by SP now Ombudsman has my complaint they can not help me till the verdict came back.0

They do know but it won't stop me leaving. I have emailed them to move my non-existent gas onto the Nov 15 tariff so that I won't pay exit charges.
Looking at Review Centre, there are 277 reviews for SP, 247 of which are 1 star (there isn't a 0 star option). I cannot understand how 30 people found the service less than terrible.
They have some good deals at the moment but it is not worth considering them at all because of the level of service they offer.Je suis sabot...0 -
I complained to Ombudsman and part of what i wanted them to do was not fine me for leaving them as they have not supplied a service so why should i be fined when i want to leave. I will never ever go back to them. They knew last summer their new software wasnt working and now 15 months later its still not working.I am off to one of the smaller companies as soon as mine is sorted.I had no gas bill since November last year after lots of emails and must be over 40 calls it never ever got sorted.
Eon and SP need shutting down completely.0 -
I think you should add NPower to your shutdown list..........0

Looks like they have all bought that new software. Why on earth are these energy companies getting away with all this bad service!0
