Microsoft and Windows 10

Just when I was expecting news on Windows 9, Microsoft with all the skill of mindreaders have usurped my thoughts with the inroduction of Windows 10, thereby ignoring Windows 9.

Presumably named as such to disassociate it from W8 as far as possible...
If Microsodt have any sense, it will be a free upgrade for W8 owners.

If indeed there were to do this they could put out the upgrade automatically via windows update then they will in short order eliminate all windows 8.x machines out there meaning they can stop supporting Win 8 totally
Which would be a major cost savings to them.

Hmmm - looks like you have to install the preview onto a Windows running system.

    Dream on :(

I bought Win 7 to upgrade a laptop running the abysmal Vista. I have a laptop running 8.1 which I find acceptable with Classic Shell so I won't be splashing out on Win 10.

TBH I probably won't be looking to upgrade til then. I don't use the laptop at home and given the speeds I get on 3G here I can't see it failing to cope...

I only lost it for half an hour or less - until I installed classic menu.

Let's hope it is a proper start menu so people can ignore the phone interface which MS tried to ram down everyone's throats with Win 8.
