New composite front door

Hi, we're after a new front door and really like the Solidor range, which obviously come at a premium price. We'd need an accompanying glass side panel as well, and recently got a quote just north of £1800 for one of the standard solidor front doors inc. glass side panel.
The company said that they can offer a cheaper 'Regiment' range, which from looking through their brochure don't look as good and don't have anywhere near as many colours (we were really after grey). I can't find anywhere that has composite doors that has an extended colour range beyond the standard black/red/white/blue etc. I might just have to bite the bullet and pay the extra to get what I want but does anyone else have any suggestions? Was after composite, and we're in Hants if that makes any difference.
An online quote website suggests door only supply and fitted is around £1350 so £1800 for the side panel supply and installation as well for the whole lot seems around the right figure I'm guessing?

Have you had a look at Rockdoor? We've just ordered a 1930's front door from them for approx £1300 supplied and fitted and old door etc removed. This is including a pieces of glass above the door. Only read positive things about Rockdoor so may be worth looking at? Looks to be a 3-4 week lead time from order0

Ive just had a rockdoor fitted by valuedoors ^^^
It had to be FD30 fire rated, and was £1300. Very impresed with the service and the fitting."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0 -
Glad to hear the feedback Nessynoo. They came and measured up on Saturday, I paid deposit yesterday and should be 3-4 weeks as mentioned above. How long did yours take from deposit to installation? I only ask as our front door lock had incidentally just broken!
Ours is the Newark as a front dor.0 -
Thanks, yeah I looked at valuedoors. I think the rockdoor price inc. side panel will be similarly priced to what I've been quoted for the solidor. Having done a bit more googling I've come across door stop doors and yale doors which both come in Chartwell green which is the kind of colour we're after. Yale doors have a really good door design/quote thing on their website and they seem really reasonably priced- comes in around £1300 including side panel- anyone any experience with Yaledoors?0

Needing 3 doors replacing (do the maths!!) i decided to buy supply only and fit myself, I bought rockdoors top range with no glass so got double A rating, and fitted one door each sunday. I recon I saved near on £2500.00
as i got the price down to £600 a door from a national trade supply distributor. Its a bit of a once you start you cant stop job but not that dificult!0 -

Is DIY just a case of measuring brick to brick for height and width and getting something made up to fit? Bear in mind I've got the side panel as well, not sure if that makes it any more difficult. I tend to DIY everything but for some reason I was a little reluctant to do a front door. Most of the bad reviews for Yaledoors seem to be about the installers so maybe DIY is the way forward. They charge £300 for measuring and fitting...0 -

We are having the Newark in Chartwell green with victorian knocker. It looks incredible from the mock ups!
I'm 99% sure Yaledoors get extremely negative reviews.... on the rockdoor website if you put in your details they put you in touch with their local stockists. I did this and had a call within 2 hours. Service so far has been excellent.0 -

Thanks yeah I read that thread. Thats why I went for the Solidor quote above Rockdoor in the first place-Yaledoors I can't find that many horrendous reviews TBH and those there are seem to be about delays in supply rather than quality of the actual doors0
