Afternoon everyone - sorry I couldn't post first thing as t'internet was playing up!
Been to vol job 1 all morning - hard day culling all media and re-filling and now only me on the till as the other volunteer doesn't like it. I am finding non stop 4 hours rather too much so I think it will need to be back to the drawing board after we get back home.
If I have lunch and sit down I'll probably fall asleep so had better get on!!!
Get well, good restful sleep and caring vibes to everyone needing them.
Am off my list today - catch up later.xJuly 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

*strengthening vibes* for you, Lamewolf; *healing vibes* for those digitally challenged - Miss Moo, Kazwookie and those wounded in battle - Woody; *calming and relaxing vibes* for everyone not sleeping well for whatever reason - ie pretty much everyone, but especially 'Prolific Poster Pigpen and Ionafan; and *supporting vibes* for those setting themselves Challenging Challenges, particularly Natty.
WM x 2 (it's hot and sunny here)
Stairs being done and fridge will be done (my dusty, scruffy doghair covered road to hell is definitely paved with good intentions alone, nothing else)
One batch of Twinks baked with bicarb that is three years (!) out of date and it was added erroneously to the melting butter, golden syrup and water saucepan instead of the dry ingredients. They taste as fab as usual. I'm amazed at how forgiving that recipe is, and OH loves it.
1kg of whoopsied plums that I thought I *should* make jam from but *shucks* no pectin to hand, has been baked with a super-generous slosh of red wine, a cinnamon stick, some cloves and a goodly shaking of out of date ginger. This place smells fab and they're destined for the freezer for surprise puddings for OH.
I've also baked an out of date seeded loaf bread mix in the breadmaker which is not smelling particularly interesting. You win some you lose some, but the store cupboards look a lot better for having been raided.
One bed changed.
Mrs Dog is getting very tired, I think. I've found a food she absolutely loves, so I think she should have that instead of proper dog food for the time she has left (Dog survived on chicken and rice for three years and died of cancer at 16) so I'm not that concerned about the long term nutritional content of what she eats. I found her this morning with her face practically jammed into her hormonal puffer, which is unlike her - she normally needs to follow me around. I no longer believe in 'benign neglect' as a description of her former life - cruel, cruel neglect is more accurate. She's the sweetest natured little thing who loves company, but she's just tired. Lots of gentle loving will be showered on her.Better is good enough.0 -

Dare I say the kids rooms are ok so I've attacked the upstairs bathrooms. Smells much fresher although I haven't done the shower screens.
Need to get DD into some clothes then go collect DS. He's requested a "party tea" tonight bless him, so we are having hot dogs and we have some buns that need icing. Think I might stick with saladhit digs are yuck...

Post Office visited and various envelopes decluttered, handmade chocolate shop visited a £££s decluttered on account of being overcome by greed while watching Bake Off and Extra Slice last night. It's a dead cert that OH would have noticed the depletion when he returns later today an the Twinks Tin being refilled would not have made up for it.
Half the stairs have been done.
Sorry if the above post was too long, but putting my concerns about Mrs Dog into words have produced results. When she was diagnosed with pancreatitis the vet mentioned future complications might encompass diabetes and I'd forgotten that. Rather than get her hysterically upset by dragging her up to the vet I'm going to feed her three times a day for three days and see if that perks her up. Now that I've found a food she gobbles down enthusiastically it shouldn't be difficult.
I've just 'quality controlled' the Twinks. I feel very full.Better is good enough.0 -
