Hey Brogden,
So glad the envelopes are working three days in ! I love having pennies left over, even its only 2p, it all adds up in the end .
I have a glass jar, everyone laughs hear when the sound of the spare money goes in and we all now empty any loose change into it including the girls. We do dip in every now and then if they need extra bus fares etc, but all in all it works well. We save it for a year, then count it all up and have a treat. To be honest we have been doing that for longer than the DMP has been running, it has become some sort of tradition and is always cashed in the day before October Half term starts.
As for the noise, my Dad always used to save in an old long sock !! It was all very secretive and if I remember rightly it was only his coppers that he saved. We did always insist that sock must be clean and not stinky and smelly ! Once his sock was full, he would count it all up again in secret , then surprise one of us with a treat, even when I was grown up he would give me money from his sock savings to have a meal if I was going on holiday or treat my mum to some plants for his garden. It gave him great pleasure to be able to do this. Perhaps this is why I started the glass jar tradition many moons ago.
Anyway , maybe an old ( quiet) sock is the way to go for you too !! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
