Well done Broggers :T:T whilst I'm late to post, I've been reading and following your p&f's. Excellent to see great progress.

The pearlies are a tricky purchase... since I too had private orthodentic treatment to straighten mine and it made a huge difference to my confidence and smile. From this :) to this :D. And my parents paid for mine too for which I am forever grateful for - DD owes you bigtime on that one ;)

Happy weekend and I'm looking forward to your posts on the mortgage and pension - get to it man :rotfl: ;)

    Thank you Ali x.

There was no question that she wouldn't have the treatment - please don't get the wrong idea :) We have to be happy to pay certain bills and this came out as I recounted the history of this now 'defunct' debt. To me that is important to do......Brogden sleepwalking and never looking back is a thing of the past :)!!

I am so pleased the treatment worked out so well for you too......and I can fell the warmth of your lovely smile here :D !!

    The Master............:o??

    I'll write your report...........

"Jan '15 is a well behaved and lovely girl who is adored by her classmates. She has produced some of the most beautifully worded and inspirational work I have ever read. I say this, of course taking account of her tender years.

If she can maintain her positive mental attitude, I am extremely confident that she will, with a little effort achieve all of her current goals at an early time."

    Very good Broggers :D

On the teeth, I meant tricky in terms of having to borrow money for them rather than the decision to do it. :) My parents were the same, but reminded me frequently that they could always be 're-arranged' when I was in their bad books :o :rotfl: They were joking though ;)

The red wine last night sedated me by the way.. ;):D

    Hello :)

A simple financial update………………with a little ‘history’

Hellifax had a credit card which they named ‘Hellifax One.’ Somehow Brogden foolishly ended up with his name embossed on one of these. He thought it was very competitive as the interest on it was 5.9% p.a. :)With a combination of random purchases and transfers he ran it up to its limit of £8,200 :(. Although the account was maintained in good order for a couple of years Hellifax proceeded to hike up the interest in stages until the rate was higher than 20% p.a. Brogden remembers complaining on the telephone about this a couple of times and a couple of miserly and fairly meaningless interest adjustments were made by Hellifax.

It became very difficult for Brogden to keep this wild beast under control as the savage interest was taking the balance above the credit limit and penalty charges were being applied for fun :(. These were the days before Brogden was an ‘internet banker’ and on the payment date he would withdraw cash from the ATM outside an extremely quiet and isolated Hellifax agency in a deserted ‘shanty town’ shopping precinct. Tumble weed blew past him as he inserted his card.

Brogden always thought the lady in the Hellifax agency was very attractive and whilst he looked forward to seeing her he was always very uncomfortable……..she would pause and slowly eyeball the overlimit position and charges applied on the paper statement as she detached the bank giro slip. Brogden would shuffle from one foot to the other. Once she suggested Brogden may be better off with a loan. Brogden blushed and said he would be paying it off shortly anyway. :o

So it defaulted in Brogden’s great involuntary credit crunch and was sold to Carboot. Times change……..the ‘shantytown’ Hellifax agency has gone and Arseda has opened its doors to the thousands of zombies who fill the car park and drift around with bags with the familiar green lettering. A little bit of history has vanished…..and the tumleweed….there is none ;).

All things must pass……..final balance £8,750.16 (Jeeez……still bloody in excess of the original limit) BUT it gets a little better………..

    Agreed settlement 40%

    Less……..

2 squids paid ‘on the drip’ :)

    Less…….

‘Downpayment’ (oooooh funky) 1,998 squids :D

    Less…….

    Instalment made 500 squids :)

    OK OK OK……..2 x 500 squid instalments to go………..:(

The swelled coffers are now empty and following recent activities I am now on ‘income.’ The pressure is on to pay a further £1,000 on this……£500 due by end of April and £500 due by end of May. I think I will achieve this BUT if I can’t I will have to mess them around with excuses, platitudes and promises but I feel Carboot are now under my control rather than vice versa .

I have deducted the monies paid from my signature and will deduct the amount of discount when that is ‘crystalised.’ In the company of friends I do not have to make things look better than they are…..

………an ordinary guy, not a politician, councillor or corporate executive ;).

Sunny spring day…….onwards and upwards :D
