Thank you so much HelenaMorning Brogden,
Totally agree with Granny, brilliant post. This IS a great place to find refuge and comfort when a lot of people in the real world couldn't even start to understand what it's like to find yourself in a pit of debt despair.
I'm keeping on reading and am continually inspired by my fellow debt free wannabe-ers whose journey and tales motivate me and give me the courage to deal with my own quagmire.
Keep up the good work, Helena
I agree, agree, agree. The forum does sometimes seem too good to be true........but it is of course true and real.
I know in no time you will have banished that 'quagmire!'

Morning Brogden - thanks for your kind words. My own quagmire's 'score on the door' was at a similar level to yours (all unsecured too) and I've been working hard at clearing it. I emphasise with your situation but take heart that it can be done and the hardest part is facing up to it. Well done you.
Have a great Sunday, Helena0 -

Oh dear me
!!
I have just been clearing out my spam and find I have a rare case of 'blighter re-emergence syndrome!!'
I mentioned that a short while ago I adjusted my signature figures down as I was choosing to ignore a pesky PDL. They had referred to a DCA. Many months ago I called the DCA to discuss repayment and was advised that they had taken the debt back from the DCA. I called them directly on the number on their letters and emails to be advised that this was their parent company and 'it was nothing to do with them.' I wasn't even sure if the PDL was still in business as I was rushed off the phone somewhat by somebody with more important things to do.
Before I start adjusting my debt figures upwards on my signature, I am going to get a little assertive here........I mean......a business has to try to be 'credible' doesn't it?
Looking at the mess that is Wonga / CFO lending and (here we go) 247 Moneybox.......what sort of industry is this? What a fool I have been............but somehow I think I might get off fairly lightly
This is no 'big downer' for me......as I write this I am much more concerned with the 'Ayers Rock' of my debt portfolio and next year will be interesting.
Have a great day all.

Must agree that Ali-Ok's way of deciding diet sounds great but risky. What we really all need are crystal balls to cut out the guess work.:p
