Try them and see, the Lidl own brand Deluxe is as good as you'll find anywhere and their bakery is very good indeed, Aldi have the better fresh fruit and veg.0

You could have gotten this trolley load even cheaper had you used a £5 off voucher;)
Voucher in Lidl store magazine for £5 off a £40 spend. Valid Until 03/10/14.

Oh no! How annoying that I didn't think of that, feel a bit silly now but I was so pleased to have meal planned & just brought what was on my list that I guess I had my blinkers on!
Still, Hope that helps someone else & I'll live & learn! Hoping for more NSD's than SD's this week0 -
There is a £5 Aldi voucher last Thursday of the month in the a Daily Mirror and the Scottish equivalent.
I mainly use Aldi due to proximity. But also use Lidl when in the area. I am no new user of these supermarkets, I have used this Aldi since my son was 10, he will be 30 in March! We started with the 10p Baked Beans and grew from there. Like the go down a level challenge, we try things, and unless we do not like them, carry on. To be honest, not found anything we dislike. Now we can get anything we want there apart from a couple low fat variant DH needs, Washing Liquid, Washing up Liquid, deodorant, dog food, etc.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
We shop at both, my oh takes us there in the van.
Lidl is far superior in the fresh veg, meat, cheese and freshly baked bread. The baguettes are mouthwatering.
Lidl stocks fairtrade teabags, hot chocolate and coffee. Free range eggs and chicken.
Aldi is good for frozen and stock cupboard. I find the cereal and tons to be much cheaper. Never found fair trade there or free range chicken.
Both stores tend to change stock every fortnight so always plenty of choice.
Also has more continental food and the washing powder, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid are great. So are the nappies and wipes.
Both have free car parks where we are so no idea about anywhere else.
Take carriers with you as have to pay for them in both shops.
Aldi is best for clothes and other things. They sell a fab range0 -
I like Aldi very much, but there are always a few products that I can't get such as Worcester sauce and bitter lemon drink.0

I use both!
I find sometimes that one will have a certain product that is tastier than another and being lucky enough to be near both it works out well for me.We are also lucky that ours have the free parking hereNOT BUYING IT 2018!
Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
I like both, although I find Aldi has more choice of meats, cheese etc. The only problem I have is the 'toy department' in the middle! OH heads straight there and always finds something that we "really need" (3 rolls of brown tape and a pack of thermal vests yesterday) If you're not careful you can spend more than you bargained forThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I prefer Aldi for chicken breasts, super 6 fruit and veg, tinned tomatoes and chickpeas/kidney beans, toilet roll, cheese, sausages, butternut squash, pasta and rice.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
