its funny i am the same-my cats are def not into mse THOUGH i have to say they prefer go-cat to hills/iams/wellbeloved etc they love it
so they have biccies all the time n the premimum wet stuff (not whiskas-they dnt like it), canned tuna, fresh chicen n the 5 month baby will only eat canned tuna, special cat milk n cooked chicken-i wouldnt let the kids be so fussy
so with 4 cats they cost a bomb-i too buy lots when on offer-bogof or 3 for 2 etc and a coupe of cheap outlets who get good stuff cheap quite often
i want to come back as one of my cats x lol x love em (they even sent me a mothers day card tho writing suspiciously like dd's!!!)even god cant change the past-no matter how many times i cryfor levi, leo, smudge and arfa:A my angels0 -
Don't feed "human" tuna to cats on a regular basis as it's bad for them and can cause heart problems. Tuna fish for cats has taurine added to it which they need for a healthy diet.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I didn't know that thanks Chameleon. I do tend to buy the Hi Life cat tuna pouches from Home and Bargain and she has one once a week but I have given her human tuna on the odd occasion but will definately stop now.0

Have you looked at the BARF method of feeding?
http://www.ukbarfclub.co.uk/about-barf-feeding/what-is-a-barf-diet.phpHow much does it cost ?
With the convenient range of frozen products available from AMP changing your pet’s diet from a processed pet food onto BARF is cheaper and cost effective. When buying fruit and veg for the family you could add a bit extra so that this can be blended and frozen into meal size chunks for your pet. Alternatively try Natures Menu with minced meat, vegetables and cooked rice; this will take all the hassle out of preparing meals for your pets. It’s ready to serve once defrosted with no fuss or preparation. Raw meaty bones are easily available from the Prize Choice Chunk range.0 -
I sometimes give my cats tuna, but I would advise against giving them tuna in brine (or spring water, which is also brine). It contains a lot of salt, which I don't believe is good for them. I buy tuna in sunflower oil when it's on sale at the supermarket.0

My cat is a pedigree and the owner told me only to feed her dried premium food, as in Iams. I have had her 5 years and I give her Iams or Science Plan, she also must have plenty of fresh water to drink. She has never been ill so far...touch wood. Personally, I am glad she has dried food, I live in a one bed flat and cannot stand the smell of wet cat food and also her litter tray is a lot nicer....if that is the word....to deal with.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

I've tried to understand this Barf thing but don't quite get it. Can someone explain it to me? How much does it cost?

PS I went to Pets at Home today and they did have 3 for 2 on Hills science plan. It's not cheap though at £15.00 for a 2kg bag. At 3 for 2 it still cost £30.00 for three bags (6kg)
Pets at Home do their own brand which was cheaper, however it was only £6.00 cheaper than the Hills stuff with the Hills special offer.
It all just seems a lot of money to pay for Cat food.
If someone hadn't said that Go Cat was junk food for cats I would have gone for that.

You'd be better off buying the 10kg bags which start at £38.99 for the adult chicken variety and if you buy from zooplus you get a 10% discount on that. It says for first time customers but I've ordered from them 4 times now using a different email address each time and got the 10% discount

They've also got a free bag of cat litter with every 10kg bag you buy this month and it's a very good litter, comparable to catsan clumping litter.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I love the website, thanks so much Chameleon. The thing is, I usually buy Hills Indoor cat as my two cats are indoor cats. They don't do the 10kg bags for indoor cats. However, I could compromise and buy the Hills Light 10kg bag which works out cheaper. Even cheaper than the 3 for 2 offer.0

I prefer using the Hills Light as it's higher in fibre and much better for one of my cats who seems to get impacted anal glands if I use the normal adult or senior varieties.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
