I have just noticed you can now send text messages from your 18185 account. Could not find any details of costs.
Update.
I made a couple of test messages and was charged 1p each.
You need to log in your account to send messages.Text charges are then added to your account.

Also sister sites, 1899 and 18866 have SMS. Edit: Heinz plan beaten to, so removed the duplication, teaches me to go and make a drink half way through posting, next time I'll just shout out! It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I have my home number & mobile number registered with 18185 but when I use the text message service it "appears" to come from the landline. It doesn't give me the choice of making the texts appear to come from my mobile - any way around this??0

When I used it, it was displaying as coming from their 0808 number, so this has changed since then. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... The 0808 number is still a choice.
It might just be confusing when people hit reply and it goes to the landline.
Maybe it's a work in progress.
Anyway, just tried it on a French mobile number and it came through in seconds - a 95% saving can't be bad......0 -

The 0808 number is the only choice for me, no others are listed in the drop down menu, even though I have several numbers registered. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
