OS DAILY - FRIDAY 20th JULY 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 20th July 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Everyone

When I said I would try to make it earlier today I didn't quite mean this early. Blame the warm night, age, and someone wanting 7/8th of the bed. Wouldn't mind but it is a king size!

Been up since about 3.30 am so considering going back in a mo. Watched some inane nighttime TV, as need to keep quiet as very light sleeping DH who does not handle insufficient sleep. Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Not much else to report, considering going to town and a bit of a fly round the house, but could change that if something more interesting comes up.

If anyone is interested Lenor are offering two free competitions, one to win a years supply of concentrate Lenor, and the other a expenses paid trip to the Eden project. They can be found on the site below one leads to the other.
http://www.freshliving.com/lenorconcentrate/index.htm
Hope I'm allowed to add this here.

Have a good Friday

    Hi guys...

It's been a long, long while since having a good look here (been v.v.busy) - I noticed that some of the 'old faces' seemed to be no longer posting on the daily post - any idea what's happened to the likes of.....
Churchmouse, pink-winged, ticklemouse, penny-pincher,squeaky etc etc?

Feel like I've lost some friends, not seeing their posts here!!

    Morning everyone
went to ds2's awards night last night and he won 2 awards one for geogrhaphy and one for IT so was really pleased with him
today I'm having a driving lesson now don't laugh I've been driving for 17 years but I've never driven an automatic and dh want's to change the car but I panic about thing like that and I decided the easiest way was to go out with a sympathetic lady instructor and see wether I like it and can get on with it so thats this morning
I have washing to do and am hoping to get it on the line but I haven't seen a forecast or looked outside yet
dd's mini prom is tonight and her outfit is done most of it made by me and even if I do say so she looked brilliant last night when she put it on for finishing touches
need to make the packed lunches and get more tea
    have a good day

    Morning

N9eav, have a great day fishing, hope you don't get too wet :D

Mrs Mix, you will be fine with an automatic, they are really easy to drive - the only problem is you will keep stalling a manual once you are used to it.

Manged to dig some potatoes up fromt he lottie yesterday, but they are starting to get brown spots, so think they need to come up. I was looking at winter cabbage seeds yesterday, but Mr Fothergill wants £2 a packet, so will be checking Netto again today for their 19p packets ;)

Hope eveyone has a good day, despite the weather x

    Good Morning all
It's raining here this morning with more to come, but nothing can dampen my mood, although I was delighted to be offered the job washing up, I was dreading it as I could really do with a couple of days rest. They said they would phone me early this week & tell me what shifts I could do & as they hadn't phoned by yesterday I was going to phone to remind them.
Last night my DD came round, I knew she was cross about me working, she's more bitter about me losing out through my divorce than I am.
She has had many rows with my ex about me living on the breadline while he has bought a boat & doesn't work etc.
Yesterday she asked me how much I expected to earn during the hols as she had just received a bonus from work of £3000 & would that be enough to cover it.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, laugh at the thought that I would earn £3000 washing up for 6 weeks or cry at her generosity. I told her I expected to earn around £600 for the 6 weeks & she gave me the money there & then & made me promise not to work!!!
I'm in tears again now, just thinking about it, I'm so tired as it's 98deg in my room all the time because of the machines & I'm on my feet all day carrying piles of paper & the thought of spending the next 6 weeks in a hot kitchen was not enthralling, lol.
I hope everyone has a great day
    Hugs Hester

Pam - Just remember to tuck your left leg behind your right, the only thing you can really do wrong, is go for the clutch and catch brake pedal, you will try throwing yourself through the windscreen. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You press the cluch down faster and harder then we do the breaks unless an emergency.
Enjoy your lesson, but you could have picked a young dishy bloke!!:T :T

Hester - what a lovely daughter, make sure you keep your promise and get some rest in.

have a good day N9eav - all this talk about tackle at this time of the morning
Hi cabbageboy - Im a newbie here but I have 'seen' most of thoses that you have mentioned on here.
sounds like your new addition has made her/himself at home AIME
you must be so proud mrs mix good luck on your driving lesson, I think I would be more worried about having a driving lesson than driving an automatic ( just forget you have a left foot ;) )

early for me on here as DD has been up since 5.45  it is her last day at this school so I think there will be tears tonight. I have a rental car coming at 09.30 for the weekend then Im off to the hairdressers. Sign on for JSA at 1pm - hopefully only 1 more sign on before I start my new job. Got to go into town then to get a bag and hat for the wedding I am going to tomorrow. Need to pop over to my Mums as she has made a card for tomorrow. Tonight I will be doing my nails and will try to have an early night as I have to set off at 08.00 in the morning to get to Nottingham.

Hmmmm dont think much old styling will be getting done around here today

Have a good day everybody and ((((HUGS)))) to those who want or need one :hello:

edited to add - what a wonderful daughter you have Hardup Hester and has anybody heard from Queenie ???

    Morning everyone.
Well done to mrs mis ds2 on his awards, and dont worry about the automatic i was the same when mil asked me to drive her to shop in her car, i really didnt want to and she couldnt understand as she said it is easier than maunal, 2 minutes down the road i relaxed and realise she was right. Must admit i think i wouldnt be able to drive one daily as i would get board!LOL.

Well the day is finally here THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! I have mixed feelings this morning and have tears welling up as i type just thinking about it, not because the kids are going to be at home for 6 weeks ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, but because today is dd last day at nursery and ds1 last day at junior school.
Have ds1 leavers assembly a 9.15 this morning batterys for camera on charge, money ready for him to buy a year 6 t-shirt they have made for the kids fetures a picture of the whole year group ( only 18 of them in the whole year 6) and individual drawings of their selves. Should be a lovely keepsake.
I think this is going to be really hard for all the year 6 kids as the are such a small year group and are all very close, plus only 4 of the kids including ds1 are going to his new school the rest off to another school.
I really hope they all stay in touch.

Right of to get the tissues ready, bet i dont see half of it for tears!!!
