Ebay Dispute/Return Query

24

Comments

  • Well they've just opened a return request, funds frozen its my first and i'm a bit stumped lol. they say in the reason they don't want a refund, just a partial as they cant be bothered to post.

    I have three options:

Accept the return and I'll have to pay return postage by paying ebay for a return label or send one myself - will ebay charge me for this?

Refund the buyer in full and let them keep the item

    or issue a partial.

I have until the 2nd October to respond.

Accept the return. They're trying to bully you.

If they genuinely "can't be bothered to post", then you won't be charged for the label, becuase, as I understand it, you're only charged once it is used.

I'd be tempted to phone ebay tomorrow, point out what they have bought and what they sell, and ask for their advice. Perhaps they have tried similar with other sellers.
  • I'd love to accept it but I don't want to pay for return shipping if they follow through.

The alternative is giving them the partial refund they're after.

No, the alternative is fight the case.

eBay don't adjudicate partial refunds, it's all or nothing.

OP you either ask them to return it all and fight any return which is /may not be correct (short) or you fight it outright.

I would not advocate the refusal, I would accept the return.

I wish I could fight, I have no option to do so. Its either pay for them to return and refund, refund in full and let them keep the item or issue the partial.

I didn't realise eBay now force private sellers to pay for return shipping.

If it comes down to it I'll accept the return, no way i'm issuing a partial.

I'm also in the accept the return camp. I had to go down the not as described route as a buyer last week and after doing a bit of research it does seem like you won't be charged for the postage unless it's used.
I think they are playing a game of "who will jump first" and I still don't think they have everything to return to you.
I think agree then wait it out.

My post before the one you quoted was advising to accept the return!

    Yeap what he said!

Its a bit rich wanting any come back after 3 weeks on some old toys - court/law would kick them out of the court

But if you feel you have to then ask for the whole lot back or kiss my @$$

    What's this eBay thug thinking?

Oh yeah hope you gave them a big fat neg whilst you think it over
