Hi All:wave:,
Haven't been around much to post, but I am just about smoke free. A couple of relapses in week 2, but overall haven't found it too bad. For me it is those times when boredom sets in that are a struggle so I think the hardest times are to come with the darker evenings.
I've known several people who have quit smoking and they still get the odd craving even now (several years later).
On the plus side, I've never eaten so much fruit in my life and I definitely feel better for it.
In terms of cigarettes I've saved 28 x £3.25 = £91.00, but with the additional fruit/food I think this is closer to £40 saving but hey it's not all about the money!
Next target is to get to Christmas without a cigarette which hopefully now will be a lot easier.
Well done to all those that have achieved a smoke free October, and if you've not quite achieved it keep going you will get there."Whether you think you can, or you think you can't -- you're right" - Henry Ford0 -
I have never understood the point in smoking. You are paying to kill your self? I suppose you just try it and become addicted and then you can't stop. I have never even tried it my self and would never try it. There is just no point, there is no gain from it.0

That's about the least useful post I've seen in the whole thread, thanks.
I think this has marked a huge milestone, and I've read 90% of the post through out the whole process and believe we have something to be truly proud of.
Keep up the good work, don't let your guard down now.
I probably avoided around 250 cigarettes which is great!0 -
Made it! I feel really blinking proud! :T
Huge congrats to everyone! Sorry I havnt been around - been really hectic in work - which has helped me stop thinking about ciggies! Ive found my routine has changed now and I dont think about having one when I wake up - which was the hardest!

I know what you mean youth leader. I have absolutely no idea where I got my money from.
In a bit if debt and wanting to get rid but have no money to throw at it at the moment. We'll get there one day. We've taken the best step in being non smokers which gives us a good pay rise.
