I take back the 'kill' part of this, I was using the phrase as figurative speech!£216 saved 24 October 20140

Still not had a ciggy since Friday. So disappointed I failed over the last couple of weeks. The nagging feeling didn't go away and I was very weak.
So how's everyone doing? Nearly completed 4 weeks. It's such an achievement!16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

well done toontron - I know the feeling, it's like waiting to go to the dentist or something. I feel really unhappy and horrible. keep going though, my husband has COPD and is coughing like mad at the moment - I am terrified of the day we have to get the oxygen cannisters in the house and he is permanently 'wired up'. Only thing that keeps me going was my daughter saying she really didn't want to have to come home to look after both of us if I got ill as well - and I realised how stupid it was to continue damaging my health, now I am a carer as well. Should have done it for her before! Have a good day and just bite things!£216 saved 24 October 20140

Well done toontron :T:T
Are you using patches or e cigs? I went on the cold turkey route. Which ever way you do it - it's not easy. You'll have good days and a few bad days.
Just try and keep yourself busy.16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

One thing I will say is that I'm pleased to know I only smell of deodorant and perfume now - I used to be very shy of getting too close to people and went rigid if someone hugged me!£216 saved 24 October 20140

I have an ecig, but I think it is just re-inforcing what I am "missing". I can't unfortunately use the patches as I have an allegy to adhesive :-( . Ah well, I have bitten the bullet and quit, that was always the big thing for me - always an excuse not to. Just have to get on with it now. I am sure I will be happier once I see the money stacking up!!!!January GC: £64.81/£80.00

Hey everyone! We're almost there
Whether you've been strict on yourself and not reached for a cigarette once or whether you've struggled and had a relapse (or two!) you've all done incredibly well. I've really loved reading through all your experiences. We're just hours away from completing something that will make a huge change to your life, health and pocket.
The Stoptober people emailed me this morning to let me know that there is a live Stoptober comedy show, airing online tomorrow for free! It starts at 7pm and you can watch it here It stars Lee Nelson, from our Q&A we had at the beginning of the month and it looks like it'll be a right laugh
Edit: Stoptober have just tweeted a competition with a chance to win tickets to the live gig tonight in London! You can find it here: https://twitter.com/stoptober/status/527037128115752960

Well guys, you did it! You've taken up the challenge of Stoptober and won! Don't stop now (or rather, do stop smoking still) and stay on track. You've gotten over the hardest part of quitting and you should all be proud of yourselves.
As we're all Money Savers here, the biggest reward should be looking at how much you've saved this month. I'm going to post a poll tomorrow once you've all had the chance to tot up your savings and we'll see how much you really saved
How are you going to ensure you stay on track? Are you using any stop smoking medicines or is your stone cold resolve enough to keep you going?
Also, Stoptober is running a competition to win a chance to see their live comedy gig, it's tweeted about it here: https://twitter.com/stoptober/status/527037128115752960

Can't believe I've achieved 28 days!!!! Hopefully I will keep with it but no promises.
We went out on Friday and a friend of my son who always gives me a great big cuddle when he sees me came over to bear hug me and all I could smell was fags - and it wasn't pleasant
Not sure how much I have actually saved (once I've deducted all my new paraphernalia and all the extra food I've eaten!!!)
Well done to everybody - at least you tried!
