DD's friend said she was shown proof of identity and was read the riot act for not bolting the door.

Suspicious is my middle name and I'm having to stop myself from calling the police to check this out but don't want to step on anyone's toes.....yet.

Has anyone ever heard of this type of thing happening?

Sounds rather suss to me. I would be checking that one out. And if it is right, its definitely wrong...if you know what I mean.

I would ring Uni or Police & check ....

Just back from buying a fish tank lol. Fish currently floating in it's bowl inside the tank to acclimatise to the new water temp. Hope he is ok. Can't wait to let him into his forever home. He has plants and everything xx
