  • Morning all. Bit worried about FC, she was poorly last we heard, now nothing. :( Hope she's ok.

Evangeline, staple guns don't all take the same staples unfortunately! (Found to my cost.) If you don't know the brand might be a bit harder. Staples are normally marked 53/8 or 26/6 or something, the larger number being the one you need to know, the 8 or 6 in this case would be fine as it is in the range. Sorry if that doesn't help, basically, trial and error then right down the right size for future reference. :D

Thanks, I guess I'll have to take the stapler to B&Q and ask which ones I need. I was hoping I could just buy from ebay.

    Good morning everyone :)

Yes I have had that done. Its not the best but its all numbed up and some general painkillers afterwards.

For me no visits to the dentist are good. I am going back on Tuesday. False tooth broke off the plate she supplied 8 months ago. Still fighting to get the work sorted with another dentist

Glitch on tuna and sours if anyone loves shots.
Princes tuna 4pk in brine is currently $3 in store but $5 in a.com compares to T at $3, so 70p for a pk of 4.
Sourz is currently $8 in store but $12.50 on a.com compares to T at $8.50, so $3.25 a bottle.

This only works on hd or collection. Confirmed in today's and yesterdays order

ooh god… I need to drive to A to check the price, drive home, place an order and them pick it up… I have too many students to buy for…. nice stocking filler - Sourz

Unsure if this helps QoC but I blanch my Sweetcorn for a few minutes and when coolish, take a sharp knife and cut down to remove the kernels. Then freeze in portion sized bags

    Hang on a sec
    Here's a link

Cheers :) I'm too lazy to blanch so have got them all lying flat on a tray in the freezer ready to chuck in a bag shortly. Same with the peppers :)

    Xmas Saver!
I have had a root canal, The only thing that hurts is the injections, and they only sting a little as the doctor should apply numbing gel to the gum. It sounds bad, but the nerve is dead so it is painless when they remove it. It just takes a few visits and a while with your mouth open so I got jaw ache. Make sure you eat/drink beforehand as your mouth will be numb for a while afterwards, so you will dribble like a baby if you eat afterwards!

Morning I was watching a gardening programme, its from Aberdeen and envied the people (and you) all the home grown food from their allotments. DH is no longer interested and I am not fit:(

    Is that beechgrove?

It's a shame about your circumstances :( can you do it by proxy? Get someone else to grow it for you in exchange for some or half the produce?

That's how I started off. I told my parents I was doing it to their garden and I'd get to keep some of the produce. It turned out I didn't need to keep any as I ended up with the allotment, but it's something that might be worth looking into
