I've got an OH just like that!
Belated happy birthday to Valli and JulieJim.
Strange but true. An obviously lost Wa!tro$e delivery van asking for directions to the newish purpose-built student block with an in-house Te$c0!
September Challenge Update: One sleeve inserted and then removed so I can recut the front panel(s) which I'm not entirely satisfied with, and a crude but possible resizing of the armhole figured out so it won't be too tight. I may not have the final toile finished by the end of September, but I'm pretty sure I'll have something.
And I've cracked another problem - I somehow never get around to dusting, so yesterday I ran up a couple of dusting gloves and they're a joy to use. Again, crude, but effective (and that's what required). They don't have to be beautiful. I might even practice bias binding cutting and machining into place, because I'm not that good at it yet and all of these skills are worth developing. They're going to look very odd but that doesn't matter.Better is good enough.0 -
General flying around for a little while yesterday, before hairdresser's appt, have now decluttered all the grey bits.m:D
In the afternoon, DD came with me to have tea and cakes with my department after school. Haven't seen them since late July and lovely to catch up with all the news.
Another one who didn't sleep great last night, so slow start to the day. The second sofa now had sparkly clean covers, and general decluttering and tidying going on.
There is a food and drink festival in town this weekend, so off there later. Usually great place for some present hunting. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Hello again. Slight change of plan today. When cleaning the fridge, decided to make cream of celery soup and was still doing that in my jimjams when DH got home from work.
Have since made myself presentable - just - have walked the dogs (nearly 2 hours) and have cleaned the inside of DH's car as I was fed up getting into a tip. I found parking tickets from May 2013 so it shows how long it is since he cleaned it out.
Just having a tea break and then will walk the dogs again via the local shop. I may get out in the garden yet.
At least the dailies got done.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
A change of plan for us too
we never made it to the park. Just after my last post, the phone went. It was DS friends dad, they live further up the street. Mum has just been rushed to hospital in an ambulance, can I have the children so he can go too?
So of course, we said yes. So that's taken most of the day. She's home now thank goodness, and everyone is rather relieved.
I'm just trying to get an online shop done (my_supermarket is not sending my trolley so having to do it twice ) then will do some food I think.
Feel shattered - two excitable 5yr old boys for the day
Weather permitting we will try the park tomorrow thanks for the tip dusty x
I did manage to get 2 washed done this morning and out on the line, which has now been brought it, doesn't seem to be drying. So it will finish off indoors.
Right, food. It's early but we are all rather hungry!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Washing all done, just finishing drying
DH finished pruning the tree I had started and that is all in the wheelie
I've swept up all the conker shells from mine and NN drive (from experience I know how much mess they make if left to get wet and squished - hard to clean up and very slippy then.
Mum has text and is starting to feel a bit better
Going to see if it is too late in the day to order my fabric and and then do HH something - I'll check my list. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Got home from the paid stuff, felt tired so planned on having an afternoon nap but have made myself:
Get car tax online (will be strange not having to display a disc)
Been food shopping and unpacked it
Hung up washing
Got tape for the curtains so I can line them
Just going to have a cuppa and then start tea.
Deco x0 -
done a stock up - aldi, then sainsbos for all the bits I can't get in aldi, luckily they're pretty much next to each other :rotfl: SOme nice things in the Tu 25% off sale - bought a set of 4 long-sleeve tshirts for biggest girl and thinsulate gloves for all 3 - £17 spent! not bad I thought. Really blew the budget in aldi cos they had their cycling stuff in - new waterproof luminescent jacket, waterproof trousers, waterproof luminous hat cover, gloves and some mini led lights £38 in total! Was looking for a better jacket as I am bike-bound 3 days a week to work with no option of buses etc in bad weather - I've been using DHs up to now, but it does billow out somewhat when I go fast!. I shall be lit up like a christmas tree now with the evenings drawing in :xmastree: :rotfl:
2xwm done - did I mention another wet bed? ds has been persuaded back into nighttime pants for tonight poor love. I think he's just exhausted from being back at school and not waking as easily. We can always try again sooner or later.
nice 'free' day out at a NT place today (we have a card) and now jacket potatoes in for tea. easy peasy!
Need to do a bit more catching up tomorrow though, going to try and make some progress on my quilt while the smalls are watching a film waiting for their tea, and then will put the 20 loads of clean washing away that have amassed on the landing.
elly68 - I feel your pain. I've come to the conclusion that you just have to keep ploughing on despite their best efforts to sabotage operations0 -
