    Hi there

A friend of ours went on a hike in the Himalayas and raised a fortune for Autistic Children. You could set up a giving web page at www.justgiving.com Hope this helps (and at least you'll be on the ground when you are 4 miles up!):rotfl:

Hi Vulture, Would it have to be something sponsored? If you have some celeb links ( however loose!) maybe something like an auction of promises would be possible... I'm sure you could wangle some meet and greets/ signed photos/ event tickets. There are lots of un-celeb people who could be persuaded to "donate" their services too- tradesmen, financial advisors, chefs, private tutors. Whatever you do, GOOD LUCK, and remember, publicity is 90% of the battle!!! Wishing you success in excess!X:j

  • Sorry i was only pulling your leg. I wouldnt do a parachute jump either, although would love to have the courage too.

An auction sounds like a really good idea. I went to one last year for Breast Cancer *Tickled Pink*, the organisers got all the local companies/teams/businesses to donate things/services/tickets etc, and they were all more than happy to !! And the crowd were more than happy to spend as it was for a good cause!

I am sure you would get great support if you started planning it early enough, printed posters, tickets etc....

Good Luck, and keep us posted.

This is totally my own opinion but I have just done a sponsored walk for my ward charity (smile4rich) and I just got the impression that people are getting a but tired of sponsoring - I know that I have.

But I do have a solution why not hold an event?

The fundraiser for our charity holds - pub quizzes (local pubs even throw in free food so we pay £6 each we get free food and entry to the quiz)

    Charity golf match

    Summer Ball / Winter Ball

    Stuff like that.

Also what about selling xmas cards that local children have designed? I know our hospital do this. I will find out who we use if you like?

Also I found this site the other day CLICK - sell these for a profit. Cool huh x

Hope you don't mind me saying that - not being rude just giving you another idea x
