My boss has been lying to me!

  • You could push back, if it is the owner then it is their business.
Point out how they are undermining there business.

Some things make no sense ,

You see an email saying you did not call(when you did) and you then cannot call.

If your job is to call and make business then she is stopping you from doing your job and hurting her own business.

The worrying thing for me was you were blind to what was going on.

    you said,

it was a difficult relationship to start with, I found her very controlling and she tended to micro manage. I found her attitude and behaviour unacceptable

    and
Martha was my colleague, we had the same job title, I found her to be quiet but professional. She didn't say much, but she was helpful and always offered me her support

But ignored your own perception when someone told you they were

the cause of many office politics and arguments, she was the office bully and undermined her colleagues

when there was clearly no evidence.

Grow some and point out when the boss is in a bad mood and causing problems.

    Get another job.

  • Get another job. Entreprenurial bosses can often be a nightmare to work for.
  • Leave - she owns the company, she's not going to change.

In terms of the psychology, I guess she feels threatened by competent workers, or it unsettles her natural controlling style.

But customers have every right to complain (honestly).

My advice: never work in an office full of women!! Men can be shouty egotists, but you don't get this snitching and bitching and wondering what's coming next that you get in an all-female environment.

Seriously, I would start looking for work elsewhere.

  • Run.

As far and as fast as your little legs can carry you and when you get too puffed out, hail a cab and keep going.

She sounds like a complete psycho.

    What absolute tripe.

I have worked in offices for years, and men can we just as bad, if not worse, than women.

Nonsense men can play that kind of game too
I do agree that OP needs to start looking for another job though as she'll forever be wondering when it'll be HER turn.
