Can online retailer charge a 'usage fee' for a pushchair they are unable to replace?

Why? It's well known that at least 25% of the value of a car drops off as soon as you take it off the forecourt?
A new car does lose a lot of money the second it goes on the road but that's if you want to sell it. You certainly can't buy a three month old car for half the new price.0 -
I can't believe you bought a 3 month old car for half the price of new.
New model was out and the dealer had 20+ of the previous model discounted on the forecourt...I was lucky I accept... bargains are there to be had. I am not a car tart and was happy to accept 3 years warranty and servicing in the price! Got a similar deal on a Meriva for my wife 8.5k 2 years ago so not that unusual I think.0 -
And you call me a liar, there's no way you paid half price for a 3 month old car.New model was out and the dealer had 20+ of the previous model discounted on the forecourt...I was lucky I accept... bargains are there to be had. I'm sure you bought a nearly new car, but you certainly didn't get if half price. They wouldn't sell them with that much loss.
While I do find it unlikely a dealer would do it, it is possible. Dealers do give quite big discounts off demo cars - and they've not even usually got many miles on them.
Then there are also car auctions. Perhaps a bit of hit and a miss but if you know what to look for, you can pick up huge bargains at less than half the price a dealer will charge. Years ago I picked up a car with only 2600 miles on it - despite being 18 months old at a third of the price dealerships were charging for cars of the same age with 30K+ miles! It went through 6 MOT's without needing any major work (ie not counting wipers, tyres and the stuff that needs replacing anyway) before I parted with it
I admit brand spanking new cars (6 months or less) aren't the main bulk of the cars that go through the auction, but I've never been to an auction where there wasnt at least a handful. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
