I have had to sign on again last 6 weeks and now my adviser has signed me up to a Jobs fair which is running tomorrow between 10am - 4pm, does it mean looking at Jobs? I have never been to a Jobs fair so don't know what it involves.
She couldn't tell me what it was about because she was rushing because she seen me so late she had other clients waiting, she just signed me up and gave me the location details, I signed my declaration as well.
The boohoo work I worked in was a only temporary position which I did state that it was only a short term contract.
By the way, I am wearing my gay t-shirt slogan at this Job fair tomorrow, its not like a Job interview

I went to a job fair a while ago, it just seemed to be local companies who were looking to recruit. Nothing like a job interview, imagine a hall with stalls around advertising companies. Bright side, I ended up with a few free pens lol0

Why the need to wear it? Why the smiley face?
You should be making an effort to give a good impression - a t-shirt (regardless of the slogan) is not really smart is it?
Anyway, why do you insist on purely promoting yourself as 'gay'... why is it relevant? Aren't you able to think of other attributes that you'd like to have noticed?
Do you have a t-shirt that says 'right handed', 'like sugar in my tea', 'good at maths' or whatever? Why not?:hello:0 -
A deliberate wind up thread...Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

I don't have any other t-shirts, I only have these t-shirts in different colours.
I agree with you if it was a interview but its not a interview, if it were a interview then I will be wearing shirt, trousers and shoes.0 -
People who work, people who have always worked, always paid their tax's & willingly donate to worthwhile charities, might wish to take a few minutes with you on the side.
Just a brief chat about your attitude to work & how best to contribute to the society which you might claim to want to be involved with.0 -

Yes, Jobs Fair is "looking at Jobs".0 -
I can almost guarantee that representatives from JCP will be there, even if they don't advertise their presence.
If you want to draw attention to yourself and risk a sanction, do please wear the famous t shirt.
If you actually want a job, why not wear a suit and aim to impress?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Are you being serious? they can't sanction me because of a t-shirt, sorry to bring this up again but my adviser threatened me with a sanction last year just before Christmas because I refused to remove the t-shirt, so I made a complaint against him and in the complaint form I said, I will take legal action if you continue bullying me to remove it, when I said legal he backed down then, it just shows Job Centre make up rules as they go along.
If they do that then I will seek legal advice.0 -
Have they previously warned you about this t shirt? yes.
Have they previously indicated that they don't think you are taking your job search seriously? I suspect so.
Would wearing a t shirt you have already been told is inappropriate for a job search to meet prospective employers be seen as appropriate? Unlikely
Could they sanction you? Yes, of course they could
Could they make it stick - possibly and even probably not. But surely only a work shy WOM goes out of their way to get a sanction and reduce their chances of getting a job in one fell swoop, even if they believe the sanction will be removed on appeal.....Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I got on a customer service course at my local college from a visit to a job fair, so there may be opportunities for you there.0
