  • Thank you so much, you are so knowledgeable pinkypants.

We have an old fashioned bed shop in my town that are closed for a week due to holidays. Now that is old-fashioned and rather selfish as I need to get cracking on ordering! They stock both Restus and Kozeesleep so I can try them out.

I am 9 and a half stone, husband is 12 and a half. Probably normal weight I suppose.

I shan't ask you to recommend a product as this would be unfair, but would you say 1000-1500 spring count would be okay? I was thinking around 1400

    Thanks
    Clair
  • I like the look of Restus Savoy, Saturn, Cashmere or Chatsworth. I just need to establish which one! Has anyone got/had any of these?

    Thank you

Think the Saturn and Savoy are same models but with different names both 1500 count?

Cashmere is the softest of the lot but I do like it, I'm 9 stone (just)

Chatsworth is 2000 count and the firmest of all 3, but not rock solid.

If you can find their Platinum range at a good price, they are really good value for money.

Any spring count over 1000 is the way forward.

You are such a help thank you, I expect lots of folk on here are sleeping better thanks to your wise words. Although Cashmere sounds perfect, I think I may need a bit firmer as currently have an 800 and far too much give in it. (Mind you it's getting on a bit) I might plonk right in the middle with Saturn or Savoy. I will wait for Passion Flower to report back on how firm the Crystal 3000 is and try and get to have a lie down on a couple at the local bedshop when they reopen next week. I'll also look at the Platinum Range over the weekend.
    Thanks Again

  • Perfect, thank you so much. What a lovely forum :)
Hey, last question (sorry), is the Crystal 3000 1500 pocket springs over two layers does anyone know or all on one layer. I think Pinky said 2000 is about max in a king Size mattress but I could be wrong. Thanks
  • I cannot answer that question, but I would guess is on two.

I remember reading somewhere that you can only have so many springs n one layer.
  • Try Ikea. They are usually reasonably priced & you can test them & also look at a cross section of the mattress. We have a large Ikea bed with 2 single mattresses on it. Mine side is firm & my wife's is quite soft. There is a slight difference in thicknesses but it's not a problem. I think you can return their mattresses if you are not happy.
    Nice to save.

The drawback with Ikea beds is that they are European measurements, so most UK bedding will not fit.
  • Yes the Crystal is 3000 springs on 2 layers, the most you can really fit into a 5ft mattress on 1 layer is 2000.
