If I understand the facts right, there is no point in applying for ESA.
Because you do not have enough contributions and your husbands income is too high, you will not be paid.
If the child benefit is paid to you (or is transferred over to be paid to you), then your pension contributions will be paid by that.

    Thanks for your reply.
The child benefit is payed to me.
I don't think I would qualify for ESA but the poster mentioned the PIP.

Blondebubbles is right only tax is deducted by the contractor not national insurance, the sub contractor has to pay their own NI.

Class 4 nic due is calculated along with tax due per self assessment and the amount deducted by the contractor is set off against the total liability of both tax and nic.

Is your husband claiming all his allowable expenses on the SA form?

My husband, is also in the building industry working under CIS, and he generally gets a refund of £2k - £3k each year, as the 20% deduction is taken off all income and doesn't allow to travel costs etc.

This refund could be used to repay some of your debts.

In terms of your SOA - the debt section doesn't really make sense, you have included the minimum repayments but not the actual debt amount.

In terms of the car - it is only worth £2k but repayments are £390 a month - is that right?

Hi, hopefully your deficit won't be so much if your road tax figure is a mistake, would your mum be able to give you a bit longer to pay while you get back on your feet?

I'm surprised that on that income, you are still entitled to tax credits for 1 child with no childcare. Are you sure that is correct?
