How do you get inside info on an election where most of the ballot boxes are still getting moved about

    #mind boggles.

... Given the polls were already heavily in favour of 'no', the yougov thing shouldn't be that significant. If you're betting on yes winning you're betting the polls are systematically biased anyway.

Huge money has gone on. There was ~£2,500,000 matched last time I looked. Now its $26,000,000! Someone thinks that they have the inside track.

It shifted within the course of about 3 seconds - immediately as the yougov "non-exit poll exit poll" got published.

Yougov chap on TV says 99% certainty that No has won.

Amazing that they're still relying on people to count pieces of paper. Whatever happened to the zombie robot apocalypse of ballot papers, boxes and counters.

The Government will always be the last to embrace new technology/welcome our Zombie Robot overlords.

This might turn out to be an absolutely miserable night for Yes....

Kellner at YouGov noting a swing from Yes voters to No, has just gone on Live TV saying he thinks it's a 99% certainty No have won.

    Bigger turnout for No voters.

Economic issues swung the day, with the reality of the negatives sinking in during the last week, hence the 6 point swing in a week back to No on YouGov. :D

Also of note.... Twice as many No voters experienced objectionable behaviour from Yes campaigners, as was the case in reverse.

    Looking good so far.

I calculate that Scotland needs only 4 or 5 failed independence referendums every year for them to exort such tremendous bribes from Westminster that they won't need the oil income.

Still, England will have the last laugh when we send back "SuperGord" as First Minister in waiting.

For what it's worth, I'm taking a spotty gamble at 15.5 on yes. I'm betting on this being an overreaction trade.

ALEX Salmond has voted ‘No’ to Scottish independence.

The SNP leader cast his ballot this morning near his constituency home and then emerged from the polling station and gave a ‘thumbs up’ to the media.

When asked how he voted, Mr Salmond said: “I voted ‘no’ actually. Last minute change of heart, I suppose.

“The idea of independence is quite exciting, but at some point over the last couple of days I just thought, ‘it seems like a lot of bother’.”

He added: “I’m also a wee bit worried about my pension.”
