One polling station has 'vote yes or else' daubed on its walls. The Scottish tourism trade is going to suffer some serious blows if this keeps up.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
Hmm. £100 on yes at 4.2/1 on betfair exchange (ie 5.2/1 in their money). Now out at an effective 5.2/1.... Great odds for what I think is going to be a knife edge vote...sorely tempted to double down...0

The fields in the Clyde that you talk about have been looked at and are uneconomical to produce from. That is why they are not being exploited not because of some rubbish that nuclear subs might hit them.
Like most people who are voting today (both yes and no) you have not looked at any actual evidence but just believe the rubbish that has been publicised.
Clearly you can't even read this thread (#114) where the utopia nonsense was addressed. If you care to provide evidence of the failure of the Clyde fields as viable would be both interesting, and news. The trials were positive however the firms were denied licences to have unfettered access due to said submarines and 'National Security' so if you think otherwise, perhaps you should realise Westminster's interference is well known in many other locations (Gruniard, anyone?) so afraid your protestations are as nonsensical as they are believable.
Still - not long to go until the result is known. From what I've seen, it's win win for Scotland, however the vote goes.0 -

So one idiot shooting their mouth off makes it relevant? Talk is cheap - and let's face it, said person has their own lunatic fringe followers regardless.
Strange you didn't think worthy to comment on Andy Murray's abuse following coming out for Yes?0 -

You think? I still recall 'Yanks Go Home' sprayed around the Holy Loch - something Scotland had no say in - but came they did, and still do.
Funny that.0 -

This is what UKIP say every time another loon/nutcase/criminal/racist (delete as applicable) is uncovered within their ranks. Nationalist parties are always entirely reasonable apart from all the loon/nutcase/criminal/racist members who they claim are just hangers on who don't represent the real them...0 -

In political terms I think you're right from the Nationalist point of view - whatever the result, Holyrood gets some more powers - even if they're quite rubbish powers, Scotland has moved a bit closer to self determination.
However, leaving aside the No arguments that an independent Scotland would be worse off economically (which is not a Win) - if there is a close No vote, with some more powers transferred, but the population bitterly divided for a number of years, I'm not sure that is a "Win".
Depends whether people can get over it or not.0 -

I think that would be a really bad bet, m'self:)
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'll wake up with a no win tomorrow. I've been of that mind for the last three months and I'm more certain than ever now. Which, from an English perspective may be a bit of a pity. Scotland has always got more out of the Union than England.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
