I am 'religious' and Christmas in that sense is important to me. The commercial horror that goes with it I could well do without!0

I hate the commercial side of it too, people lose sight of what it is really about and it becomes a battle as to who can out do the other person in the present stakes.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
I hate Christmas too. There just seems to be so much extra work and unneccessary stress. All the pressure to make everyone happy.
I suffer with depression and am always worse in winter , I'm sure it's a combination of the short darker days and all the stress of Christmas preperations. I just want to run away and hide when everyone else seems to think they must visit and be sociable, and if one day isn't convenient then they will come another time...there's no escape !
Once it's all over and the New Year has started I breath a huge sigh of relief and feel as if a ten ton weight has liftedDecluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
I like Christmas - but only at Christmas!! It really annoys me when people put their decorations up in October and then try and force Christmas on you for the next few weeks    I don't want to know how many shopping days are left or hear Christmas songs in the shops in November - at least wait until December!! I do really like Christmas, honest!0

Maybe you suffer with a bit of that S.A.D - seasonal affective disorder. One of my relatives gets that - I think its lack of sunlightWith love, POSR0 -
I used to love Christmas; not so much anymore even though I have a 9 year old DD. Having a mum who upped and left to the USA when I was 19 didn't help as I felt I was pushing myself on others at Christmas and never felt 'at home'. Last year I tried to make MIL's table Christmassy and she couldn't wait to take it all off and go back to normality by Boxing Day.
I also have a friend on FB who drives me nuts with her Christmas countdown status' plus the never ending posts of when she's planning to put her tree up which is normally by mid November; so by just her alone I'm sick of Christmas before it's even arrived. I'm already dreading her bloody Christmas posts!0 -

Don't mention the FB Christmas countdown, I am already seeing people posting this and already people going on about what they have bought for Christmas already, but then FB is full of people that feel the need to boast.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0
