Just sat here writing my menu plan for the next couple of weeks! Ended up popping out to the shops this afternoon to get a couple of ingredients for beef stroganoff as hubby accidentally got beef out instead of pork and I didn't fancy stew. Really enjoyed it as it's not something we have that often.
Need some more veggie and fish meal ideas as I want to do the rest of the month and next months menu plans.Grocery Challenge 2024

dingdongsaving, I've added your Enchiladas/casserole recipe to the index... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Another £12 (round figure) spent today in w8rose, they still had the extra mature cheddar on offer, 2 blocks of 500g for £6, I got them as we loved them when I first bought them. It is a good price for mature tasty cheese and a little goes a long way, if I can discipline myself to have only a little!
Also got other bits and pieces and a free tea and newspaper.

Wow Caterina, you're doing so well this month!
I've had another NSD. Was going to buy yeast but mum dropped by with some which is five years out of date but miraculously worked fine (luckily - lunch hung in the balance!!)
I'm going to try to aim for £120 now, I think!0 -
Few more to add.
£1.47 on some custard and a lollipop
£7.35 on 5 pots of custard (on offer), a bag of roast & ground coffee, gluten free ginger biscuits (RTC), 6 eggs & a chocolate bar.
£5.25 spent on 16 cans of Pepsi max, a tin of baked beans, a loaf of bread (YS) & a baking potato.
So adding £14.07 to total.0 -
£10 odd spent in Mr T this evening on snacks, frozen chips, stuff for my 2 day trip away next week, a YS meal for DH when I am away and a cheesecake Dh has been fancying since last week. It's not economical for me to make one myself as the gf biscuits costs as much as the whole non gf cheesecake that DH and DS can eat today and tomorrow.
I made a lovely leek and bean soup today and there is plenty for the next 2 days. This is a new recipe for me and will definitely make it again. I am getting more adventurous in adapting recipes as I didn't have everything for this recipe so left out the bay leaf, used dried not fresh herbs and used 1 tin of canalleni beans instead of 2 and substituted 1 of butter beans. Previously I wouldn't have made something if I didn't have exactly what was on the recipe.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Morning
So far I've spent £225.05/£325 and think I might make it this month. I haven't allowed any junk in the food budget, it's just for real food!
Tea tonight will be cottage pie and green beans, all ingredients out of the freezer - just need to dig up a couple of potatoes for the top.
I need to plan the rest of the month today but I don't think I'll need any more deliveries and can survive on trips to the local coop.
They have annoyed me recently though as they have tarted the shop up a bit (not a whole revamp) and no longer sell boxes of 10 free range eggs for £1.90. Just more ££ alternatives. It does annoy me when shops quietly drop their cheaper lines! I think an email is called for...
If I have no more deliveries I have £7.68 a day left and 4/5 meals in the freezer.
Hope everybody is having a good month.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

I don't have to go anywhere 'til Tuesday, so NSDs today and tomorrow.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
