Have been really pleased this week have only spent £6 on fruit. veg and eggs. Have meals planned until this months challenge finishes on the 24th for me.
Have loads in freezer for November so once again I am going to try and use up trouble is every time I decide to do this I see a good bargain and cant resist. Really must try and do this. in the run up to Christmas.Slimming World at target0 -
big shop today - veg wholesaler, Lidl and Tesco.
£12 for veg and £13 each for the other 2. I shouldn't need to go anywhere near a shop for the next week!
I've still got £120 left in the groceries budget until the end of the month so it's looking good. Keeping a track of it really makes a difference.
I've only got £3 left in the eating and drinking out envelope though which is not good.0 -
At last I have a spare shelf in my upright freezer Gave the contents to my DIL to help her out this week..
Just have to stick to decision not to be tempted by any bargains until Christmas.Slimming World at target0 -
Got everything on the meal plan to the end of the month. Just fresh bits to get as needed on the 25th (ish). Setting a £20 limit for that shop...and hoping that will bring us in £50 under come the 31st. Only time will tell.0

Big spend here also, but some "luxury" booze and help with shopping for poor student DD1 on home visit. Will need to unravel the receipts later....First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

A very expensive £9.60 (rounded up to £10) shopping today. Expensive because of buying the veg at the local greengrocers instead of the market: 1 cos lettuce £1 (market price 3 lettuces £1), bag of watercress £1.50 (market price varies but around £1/bunch), 1 Savoy cabbage £0.90 (market price 2 for £1, pick and mix cabbages and cauliflowers), a few mushrooms £1 (not sure of market price but it gets me a fairly large bag of mushrooms, not a titchy one).
The remainder of the shop was nice and YSd, 2 packets of smoked salmon at £2.60 each, from Marks, excellent price, one was shared between DS and myself for lunch and the second in the freezer, will make a couple of posh breakfasts or packed lunches for DH in the future.
However, even YSd it was an extravagance, justified by the current underspend on budget. Not the end of the world of course, and it is a very healthy addition to our diet. But I had gott used to coming back home with a trolley full of goodies from the market for a tenner and got a bit of a shock!
Notwithstanding any building stuff purchases, there should be only a little spend over the weekend, consisting of milk for new batch of yogurt, which I want to buy raw at the farmers market, and probably a batch of beers for the boys.
Going to update my sig now. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
My new shopping week starts today and I haven't been to Aldeee to do the weekly shop. I just don't need anything. This is unheard of. We will nip to a shop for some beers for DH tonight no doubt but that comes out of a different budget and we don't need anything but maybe some milk before early next week.
I have just taken a GF Victoria sponge cake out of the oven and it has risen beautifully. My GF cakes taste nice but are normally flat as pancakes. I am not sure if it is the half a teaspoon of extra baking powder or the fact that I put in an extra egg by mistake and fished the yolk out but a fair bit of the white stayed in. I used my bigger sandwich tins too as I couldn't find the smaller ones so it may have been even bigger baked in those.:D
I also used up some normal cornflakes that were never going to get eaten and some cheapy chocolate to make crispy cakes for DS.
Sausage and mash for tea tonight.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
