Was pretty gutted that I can't use three in and around my home.

Have you tried their Three In Touch app??

Will have a look at that, might solve some of the issues.

Still got plenty of credit on the SIM I bought to try the network out.

    Thanks
  • Thanks for all your replies. Just got back to the UK and am planning on visiting the Three store tomorrow to get a sim card and try them out. Will let you know how I get on.

order it online here for FREE: https://www.three.co.uk/Support/Free_SIM/Order

It takes 1 or 2 working days
What happens if you push this button?
  • Brilliant, thank you. Does anyone know if Three still roam onto Orange 2G in places where there is no Three reception available?

They started reducing the 2G service four years ago as their 3G coverage continued to improve. It may be available in a few places were 3G still isn't possible, but it's not widely available.
  • OK thanks. I checked the Three coverage around my partner's home in Norfolk where I spend a lot of my time and it looks like the Three reception is a bit patchy. But I know they get Orange/EE reception there, so wasn't sure if it would be available on a Three sim. Guess there's no way of knowing until I actually try a Three sim card.
  • 3 is usually great coverage - especially data. Their customer service is awful - but it's ok as long as you never need to speak to them!

I can't say my experience would go with that, I've found them no worse than any other network.

  • I'm not on 3 for my mobile phone, but I've got a Dongle on 3, which I've found to be excellent.
