OP, if you're no happy with anything that happens with a major stores customer services, always ask to speak to the store manager not a department manager.

The store manager most of the time will not be available to speak to customer due to the nature of the role eg meetings and having to complete non delegatable work etc. Also with quite a few stores having 24/7 trading the store manager can't be expected to be there all the time anyway.0 -

Plus any store manager who has his bottom line in mind isn't going to cough up to a bloke stood with a bulb and no receipt/box.0 -

During the day you have a very good chance of speaking to the manager. There's always the assistant if the manager is not there.0 -

I'd say in a large store the chance of seeing the overall manager would be slim. There'd be a duty manager in a large store which would be available for customers.0 -

I've managed it many times.0 -
I've managed it many times.
A duty manager would probably if asked if they were the manager say "yes", it keeps the customer happy thinking they are speaking to the manager when it isn't possible.
Why have you needed to see a store manager many times? I can't think of ever needing to & I've been buying things since the 70's. How on earth have you managed to need to see the manager many times?0 -

Crikey, are you going to start again?
I am not that easily duped.
The second part of that question is not relevant to this thread and is none of your business.0 -

For a start if whoever I spoke to solved my problem I wouldn't care if they lied to me. If they didn't I'd make further enquiries.0
