Lidl Car Park fine...

  • What difference does it make if its a child needing the toilet or a single person who's been caught short. Parents today expect special treatment because they think they're some sort of special case.

I have grandchilren but that doesn't give me any more rights. Either way, you don't have to pay it so nothing to worry about

...and next time shop at a proper shop and avoid the Aldi/Lidl parking scams.

I use both Aldi and Lidl, but I'd be hard pushed to spend 90 minutes shopping at either...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

To be fair it is because of folk like the OP that Lidl etc have to impose [STRIKE]fines[/STRIKE]/invoices because they park on private property and then shop elsewhere, blocking up the car park that is paid for by Lidl for, for Lidl customers use.

There's nothing I've read in this thread to say that this is what the OP did. In fact my reading of this thread is that they DID shop in Lidl.

Hi so today I didn't have any change on me so parked in lidl

If she indeed wanted to shop in Lidl, she wouldn't be worrying about change.

To clear up this unhelpful arguing of where I shopped, I parked in Lidl to shop at lidl. I wasn't intending to stay there as had other errands to run in town which were within walking distance so as I had no change I kept the car in the car park. There were lots of other spaces available for other shoppers. I don't know why you feel the need to argue the point. I understand that I can appeal any invoice that may come through the door and I will be doing. £90 is not a justifiable amount for a car park that doesn't even have a ticket machine. They've lost nothing.

What makes you assume the car park is only for Lidl customers then? Often local Councils impose planning consent saying the exact opposite of that.

It was amusing (if a bit sad that there are such gullible people on MSE giving duff advice about 'fines') to read the first two utterly clueless responses and I thought 'I bet this one started out on the wrong forum' - then I saw Crabman had indeed had to move it!

Erm, why do you think you can park for two hours for free?
If you have to rush to the bank or grab a paper from the newsagent, then alright, but a two hour shopping trip?
Oh dear...that wasn't a good start ...but this one took the biscuit:

Did the car park have any terms and conditions that states the car park is for Lidl customers only? I'm afraid you've no recourse other than to pay the penalty charge.
Absolutely shocking gullibility and lack of understanding of a well known scam, yet posted by an MSE stalwart.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
