Feel like I need to add photos to all my posts now, they look sad and uninspired without them!
And Hi Littlemiss_pretty! :hello: London must have been a big adjustment from Doncaster, I've got to sayAs for a simple cake, I've got to hand it to Mary Berry's Victoria sponge. Best thing to do is get a jar to keep your "baking" sugar in and add a couple vanilla pods to it. Not that a cake will fail without it, just gives it an extra sweetness.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was very spendy on OH's side. He got his suit, plus a back up, as well as some new day-to-day clothes. But he looks very dapper, as he's lost a lot of weight this year and everything was swamping him.
Had the place to myself last night. So I had a little pamper evening. Bubble bath with netflix, painted my nails to give the illusion that I'm a put-together person, slummed it in the kitchen with Ryder playing a few games and then caved to the ironing pile until 9:30Did declutter the sky box a little in the process
As for money news:- House Deposit now stands at £6,000
- My savings are at £225
- Email from Quidco to process a £5 cashback they initially declined
- Monthly £5 reward paid in
- Coupons for 9 free bags of catfood (for my kitty who lives with the parentals) and Vichy cream samples with the postie
To do list for today:- Cancel Ryder's food subscription
- Finally make the peppermint sweeties
- Deep clean in the bathroom
- Change bedding - iron fresh sheets
- Write up meal plan
- Try my best to keep the house clean around OH who, no matter how lovely he may be, constantly leaves mess in his wake.

Duh - forgot to mention the whole photo is the new lamp we got this weekend. Needed a nice one ever since we moved out, we did have one before that really didn't "go" and my mum claimed in the moving process. So we snapped this one up while Mr T had their 20% off promo going
It's from the Gatsby range, really reminded me of the Biba home style. But nicely didn't cost the earth.
ALSO, little victory. Finally cleaned my car! And not a superficial clean, oh no. The back seat is so clean I haven't even put Ryder's seat cover back on to hide the mud and hairs.0 -
Hi Cinny,
Just to echo Littlemiss_pretty's statement really that I am uber addicted to your diary! I lurked your old diary and love the motivation on this new one too, I love all of your baking and OS money saving ways, and all of the little Ryder stories! I am going to try and not be such a lurker and you have inspired me to update my own MSE diary too. Thank you!
You are doing so well on your house deposit savings, keep on keeping on!:heartsmil Stay-at-home-mummy of two, pinching the pennies but loving it! :heartsmilSpreadsheeter, piggybanker, envelope-system user!

Got distracted on the path to peppermint sweeties and made honeycomb instead :A Making a coffee cake with OH this afternoon so we'll be able to crumble some on top, also gave a generous portion to my Grandma this morning.
And thanks, Kitty! Was trying to think if I remembered you from my thread or yours, and it clicked it's probably both! I'm just terrible at posting on my own diary, let alone anyone elsesHope you're well
Wasn't going to post today, not a great deal to report, but I thought it's best I get into the habit as it's great motivation.
Moneywise:- Yesterday was a NSD
- Today will be the same!
- Cashed out on Qmee - only 61p but every little and all that
OH has text to say he's had a "tidy up" and "done something big" which I (apparently) probably won't like but he "has his reasons" _pale_ What the actual flip, I'm not looking forward to home time now :rotfl: If it's anything to do with the kitchen I'll be gutted. Finally got everything in a place where it makes sense, and I know what OH's like for changing things when he's left to his own devices0 -
Oh dear, hope he's just winding you up and hasn't messed things up too much! My OH used to get bored and I'd come home to find the whole place had been moved around and just as I got used to the new layout he'd change it again!
He's got less time to do such annoying things now, hurrah!
Just look at that lovely house deposit total! Well done! :TOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Thanks Birdie! We're hoping we'll have 10k saved by the end of the year, and around 15k by March time. But then OH's commission changes and it might be a slog to 20k.
The "change" wasn't anything as horrific as I imagined. He'd just moved the sofa, the madness!? He's also changed the baby (dog) gates around, so Ryder has a little corner of the living room to prowl in now
Was typing up a post yesterday but as we're having typically lazy days, there's really not a lot to say! I've managed 3 NSDs in a row, talked OH off the ledge on 2 potential takeaways and last night made us pretzel dogs for tea.
Today will not be a NSD. I'm feeling in such a major rut with my hair. If people didn't follow my previous diaries I changed my hair colour every few weeks this past year, lots of greens and blues and mermaidesq colours. I've reverted back to my natural colour as I have a dream, a dream of long flowing auburn locks! I've also banned myself from hair cuts until December because I have no self control over getting my hair cut as short as possible. It's just making be feel a little blergh! So after work, I'm popping to get a new foundation (mine's a smidge too dark now the sun's gone away) and a new lipstick to make myself feel better. OH is also out tonight so I can do a full on pamper - face mask, body scrubs, fresh nails. Le works.
Off work tomorrow, 3 day weekend! Thought it was a waste of OH's week off if we didn't have one day out together. We're out to a show in the evening, so we're just going to have a chilled day and maybe go somewhere for dinner
Plotting a trip to the cinema on Saturday, then a sofa day with lots of Hobbits and a roast on Sunday. Will try and get on to update my signature tomorrow!0 -
Glad the change wasn't anything major! I had visions of stripped walls or bare plaster where tiles used to be!
A pamper night sounds lovely!I feel for you having to grow your hair out. It suuuuucks! I have to stop myself from dramatically different (i.e. short) haircuts whenever I (rarely) go to the hairdresser as I then spend a year growing it out and hating it.
Oh, what I would give to be rich and have a hairdresser on staff who can chop my hair off one day and expertly put in lovely real extensions the next when I decide I want long, thick hair!

That was my exact fear, or that something had happened to my lovely steps! Speaking of my steps, when I was out last week there was a shop trying to sell something extremely similar for £30. I'm in style for a change!
Growing out a pixie is something I wouldn't wish on anyone, I've reached the embarrassing mullet stage. I just need to woman up, it will all be over in a few months.. I hope
Totally forgot the new series of AHS started. Have you seen it yet, Birdie? Will have to catch up tonightRight now I'm extremely happy for my general distaste for outside, coupled with my crippling free tv obsession. Makes it extremely easy to save money!

OH downloaded and watched it this morning so I've got to watch it tonight, as well as Arrow! Don't know how I'm supposed to squeeze it all in but I'll try! Just have to hope that the little dude goes to sleep nice and early
Will be the first time we've watched AHS weekly rather in a big weekend session but it's not really possible to do that anymore! Hope it's better than the last series, it was a bit meh.
