Oooh I love a bargain, even if it's not for me! 12 x 50ml bottles for £6, the equivalent of 4 full-size bottles so a saving of £14! Huzzah! And an arm-full of purple furry scrunchies that came in the giftset too!
I'm so excited! Will probably actually save me a little more in the long run. Should be able to use a bottle every 2 weeks on my roots/brighten up the ends if I mix it with conditioner. Probably last me 6 months, and I normally buy a bottle a month.. so more like £30 :j And that saving sounds like a day in York with coffee to meWas telling OH about it this morning, but I think the calculations went way over his head
Excited to see a Jericho/Flamingo duo! Will Baby Z be dressed up too??
Was up again last night with some kind of bug, almost 2 weeks after the last one. OH set me up with orange juice and dry toast this morning so I still hauled myself into work. Could have happily stayed in bed, blerrrgh. Decided to take Ryder out in the car for another walk this afternoon, partly because it's half term and there are kids everywhere thinking he's a wolf and trying to play with him when he's clearly as impressed with strange children as I am. So somewhere quiet, with lots of fresh-field-air. Sounds like it'll do me the world of good today!
Not much to report on the money front, made a TT of 37p this morning and just holding on until payday. Only 2 days! Have fewer bills next week so I'm looking forward to saving a little bit moreWell, hopefully!
OH is checking he's not due any PPI today. Will be a nice little bonus if we're due any, but I really doubt it!0 -
Z-dogg won't be dressing up as he's not invited!
We're going to a James Bond party in a few weeks and going full effort with dressing up for that too, I'm going as Vesper and OH is going as Daniel Craig's Bond  It's pretty obvious that we don't get out much now as we get over-excited when we do have parties to go to! :rotfl:
Hope you feel better soon, it's awful being poorly!Hope your OH finds a hidden stash of PPI to claim too!

Z-dogg won't be dressing up as he's not invited!
How rude! You'll look amazing dressed up as Vesper, your hair is perfect for it!
Had a long night last night so we didn't get on with the PPI. Might try with it tonight instead! Didn't get to sleep until after midnight as someone broke into one of the stalls at work so we had call the police etc. I only wound up coming across to see what the sound was (I live less than a minutes walk away!) because I was worried it was my car going off
OH's oversized terramundi came yesterday, said it "sounded so empty" when he put his first bit of change in :rotfl:
Had that magical, quietly beautiful moment of finding a new recipe to try and discovering.. we have everything in for it! Meal plans have really gone up in the air as I was out last night, OH is out on Sunday etc. Worked quite well really as I'm not going shopping until Wednesday next week. So this way the meals have covered the difference. Set my budget for £35, and won't have to shop for the rest of the month. Will mean we're waaaaaay under budget which is pretty awesome, and a lot better than I expected
Still not feeling great but I'm feeling comforted in the fact that EVERYONE is sick. Head feels full of cotton and everything aches. Just need to make it until 4:30 and then I can have a bath, curl up with a blanket and potentially cry in self pity.0 -
I did not curl up in a blanket and cry last night! I had a bath, using some Bumble and Bumble samples to perk me up, then snuggled on the sofa to watch some telly with some cough sweets I'd had forced into my pockets by my Grandparents earlier in the day
Payday! Used my surplus wages to buy OH's birthday present, it was already in the sale last week but I decided to wait a week - discounted by another £5 this week :money: So that's his gift sorted, going to get him some scratchcards to go in his card and I'm taking him out for his tea too. So that's plenty of treats for a man who said there's nothing he wants!
Also had an email from N3xt about a statement being ready to view, remembered I put some Christmas gifts on my account planning to pay off the next day when I got paid, but with Christmas being so hectic I totally forgot! Makes sense why I had one week being surprised by surplus funds:o Anyhow, that's paid off now! Still put a good chunk to one side for my bill-float-plan and I'm hoping I can add a little more to it at the end of the week
Payday treat to curb my need for materialistic things and stop me from blowing up one day after weeks of not buying anything and buying EVERYTHING. A doggy box subscription I've been hankering after all week. At first I found a discount code making it £9.90, then I found a deal on AmazonLocal to get your "first box" (and only box ) for £5. So excited for Ryder to get it!
Popped to work before work to get £20 out to put with the £20 I had in my purse for my spending money this week. Spent £5.75 on bread, chocolate for crispie treats, Ryder's favourite treats and some aubergines for my tea on Sunday while OH is out. Decided I'll put my £4.25 change in our change pots, and have £30 as my weekly-shop-limit
Making turkey burgers with fries for our tea tonight. Have sour cream and salsa to use up so it makes sense. Always like making burgers, purely because it's messy and makes me feel masculine.
Cinema tomorrow and as we have a voucher for free popcorn and drinks I'm hoping it'll be a free day out and I can steer OH home without stopping somewhere to eat.0 -
Cinny you are so dedicated to this money saving, I wish I could be the same
. My saving has gone out of the window as my In laws have been staying with us for past 3 months and really driving me up the wall so I have been treating myself to make myself happy (I know that's not very MSE)
But they are going back on tuesday and I can finally have my house, my tv and my HUBBY back
Have a good weekend alredy looking forward to your next post.0 -
Thanks for the encouragement, LMP!
I don't know if it's being dedicated or just being stubborn? If I set a goal I'll jump through hoops and do the most die-hard stuff to reach it, but if I don't have something to work towards I'm terrible with money.
But yikes, I don't blame you at all for treating yourself with the inlaws over! I love OH's family dearly but I think after a week or so, I'd be physically removing them from my house. My own family would be out on their ear after a weekend :rotfl:
Had a nice easy afternoonFound some liquid gold (sadly, not real gold!) so I went over the Ikea work tops. OH decided to tell me only the other night that we're actually meant to varnish the worktops to the units we bought. But it's done now, so that's that matters. Also made the chocolate crispie treats, cleaned the kitchen and organised the rest of the house for the weekend. Treating myself to a coffee and 10 minutes to actually give the show I've had playing on Netflix my full attention!

Morning!
Up early as OH discovered it's practically impossible to quietly leave the house without waking the other person up(something I get told off for most days when I walk Ryder!) So while he was out on his bike I took Ryder for a 2.5 mile walk. Would have been 3.5 but hormones are slaying my back this month.
Ordered OH a second present this morning, found some codes to use that got it from £22.10 (was already 25% off) down to £17.34 delivered with cashback :money: But that is IT NOW. Someone tell me off if I buy him anything else. Football shirt + beard kit + a meal out (will be about £50 at a guess) is plentyplentyplenty.
So spends over the weekend total £20.34 (had to purchase an emergency belt yesterday!) and it's capping at that. Aiming for a NS week, bar food shopping. Quietly looking forward to OH being away so I have 3 whole days of cooking what I like, watching PLL, and the.. house staying tidy and clean :happyhear
Making my to-do list for tomorrow which includes calling around places I have old accounts with to close down, so a financial declutter I suppose! Marking a couple places in the house I want to clear out - a few drawers, etc.
Although one BIG thing to take off the list is sorting out the boxes in the spare room. We were going to filter them through the recycling bin every fortnight but it's taking forever. I'm going to help my sister unpack this afternoon so had a little light bulb go off in my head reminding me that a recycling centre exists in my old town so I can take everything there today and reclaim the back bedroom :j:j0 -
Had no more spends for the rest of the weekend :j
Spent last night organising our mean plan and shopping list, and rearranged to go shopping a day early. As OH is away for 3 nights worth of meals, not the two I thought, I only really need to spend £15 or so. But decided to use the surplus to stock up the freezer with meat which is our biggest cost, which'll keep the cost down on other weeks. Wild wild Sunday nights over here.
Discovered Cherry Bakewell green tea over the weekend and it's lovely! Hoping it'll kick the coffee and two sugars habit at work, and it's sweet enough that I don't need to add honey/sugar like I tend to with other green teasBut it isn't sickeningly sweet like the caramel apple green tea I tried a few weeks ago _pale_ Also hoping that by the time I've used up my current box somewhere will have it on offer
Have a busy home-body afternoon after work today, so I thought I'd post a list here to make me motivated and make sure I do it all!- Walk Ryder
- Defuzz Ryder
- Clean Kitchen of Ryder fuzz
- Clean oven and trays
- Reorganise Utility Room/Pantry to make better use of the space
- Sort Laundry
- Iron OH's shirts and steam his suit
- Clean out fridge
- Finish organising boxes in spare room
- Pack up car with things for the clothes bank/recycling centre
- Fix broken drawer on our dresser and probably wind up reorganising my clothes in the process
- Clear out clutter spots in bedroom/living room
- Measure bed frame for new boards
Will do a good general clean on top of this, and make a cake for tomorrow too. The meal I bought some sour cream for never materialised so I need to get that used sooner rather than later0 -
That tea sounds incredible Cinny! If you do spot it anywhere on offer let me know - I've never seen it before! I bought a super sweet caramel type rooibos tea a while back, I'm loathe to throw it away but it was not good. I have a Clipper pear & honey one on the go too which is lovely, and a Twinings Revive which I'm hoping will cure my cold! Both were on offer for £1 a box (Waitrose & B&M Bargains respectively!)
My OH is away this week too so I know what you mean about looking forward to a good TV catch up!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Is PLL good? I am after a new TV addiction that doesn't require too much concentration as I'm usually doing 5 other things whilst watching!
Oh, how I'd love a few days on my own without the OH! I get the evenings to myself as it is but then he comes home at 10.15 and disrupts my quiet wind-down time, he flaps the duvet before getting in at least 4 times to make sure that I'm nice and cold then there's the whole issue of an extra body in the bed taking up all the room... I want to starfish!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
