I came across a thread on OS raving about the KonMari method of decluttering. I haven't read the book yet but the followers are raving about it and it seems that her method of folding is addictive!
I need to get into the decluttering, I'm sick of having 'stuff' everywhere! I keep opening drawers and binning a bag full of stuff but there's so much more to go!
I like the 20/20 thinking, it's very true! Last time I sorted out my clothes I did get rid of a lot of things with that in mind TBH, I just said 'Why am I holding onto something just in case I'll need it... I can buy a new *whatever* in a cheap shop if/when I need it so just bin it, goddammit!'
Well done on the terramundi savings, very impressive! :T Why not make a new savings jar out of something rather than spend a load on a new one? Brilliant news about your sister Cinny! Bet you are so excited.0

The first blog I found was this one, and from there discovered this blog which's all handy with charts. I was mostly just clicking through links and went on a real journey of self discovery
I remember reading about that book, Birdie!

I'm about to make the most bizarre confession of my life. I can't make money tubs because they make me feel vomtastic :rotfl: I really struggle with coins, jewelry.. metal etc! There's probably some long jumble of letters with "phobia" slapped on the end to explain it. But nooo no no. I'd just think of any trace of milk or water being at the bottle of the tub mingling with the coins and making them all wet and germ-city or something equally ridiculousEven if I dried it with a hairdryer or something. I was near throwing up when we were counting all the coins after breaking the terramundi. My brain works in such beautiful, mysterious ways.
But thanks to Dinah's suggestion, we've got one on the way from eBay. Cashed in our nectar points so only paid £25 for a large one :j As well as a sealed tin from Poundland for our coppers. So £26 instead of £55 :money:
I also remembered that OH's bank has a machine like a CoinStar - only minus the 7% fee - that puts money straight into his bank so we made a trip there to put the terramundi money and coppers in. Saves bagging them up and faffing around. We have still kept the notes to one side, OH is going to try and make it last until the end of the month and not use money from his bank account. But, he is in London for 3 days next week so it might not work out. His expenses have almost his 1k for the month already
OH's parents wound up paying for our meal yesterday as our birthday presents for next monthSo I, personally, spent £0 over the weekend :j
Got up a little earlier this morning so I could prep tea (chicken curry, with lots of extra veggies) and make a quick list of what we have in to base meals around. Decided to go shopping today, and then later on in the week so things like veggies and salad don't have chance to go off  As much as I do like Aldi, their veggies seem to go off faster than other places? Which might actually be more of a credit to them, shows they're not plastering things with chemicals to make them last longer? Who knows!
Took my £20 out of the bank so will be that annoyingly slow person shuffling around with a calculator0 -
LOL, I actually get what you mean about coins (to a degree...;)), I hate the feel and smell when counting change! Blegh. The milk carton ones I saw were printables though i.e. brand new card!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Oooh just remembered too, in my local Boots they're selling off mini bottles of this (from the Christmas stock) for 50p. I'll pop in at lunchtime and hope they're still there. they've been on the shelf for weeks so hopefully a couple of extra days won't have made anyone suddenly decide they need 'Washed up Mermaid' hair!
On the subject of fun hair, I had planned to dress up as a mermaid for my 30th party but decided that I'm a little too....errr...'curvy' for the costume so I've decided that I'm going to be a flamingo instead (as you do!)! Helloooooo pink wig! I'm totally going to wear it all the time!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Well, it happened to me so I could believe itThank you so much though! And a flamingo sounds like an awesome costume. Really hope you're using this as an excuse to get a OTT pink tu-tu (and possibly walk around with bottle of Cambord going "bof!")
Day off today! Have already given the bathroom a deep clean, stripped the bedding and put the last load of laundry in the washing machine. Just have a basket of ironing to get through, make the bed up and tidy through the house before I head out later. Turning into a lovely sunny day after being super frosty this morning, so I'm going to drive Ryder out somewhere for a longer walk over doing our usual.
Spent £27.80 yesterday - but only £19.29 of that was on food. The other was on a card and present for my Grandma, and a shed load of reduced deodorant for OH. Still chuffed with that! Plus I made easter crispie nests as per OH's request. I normally just use chocolate with a bit of butter but I found a recipe that used golden syrup too and they're deeeeelish!
Removed a little from savings as with all the expenses OH felt a little too thinly stretched, with getting the car last month and all the costs with that. Will be able to repay it on payday but for now the savings are £9,250. I suppose one dip in the time we've been saving isn't bad at all
Off to crack on with the rest of the housework!0 -
Well today was a complete wash out! Sister is extremely tired, jet-lagged, and generally upset over being without her Husband for the foreseeable. I'm a humour-helper and while I'm hilarious, a comedy crutch isn't what she needs tonight. Plans to see her tomorrow evening for tea instead
Still enjoyed my Tuesday off. Would quite like a weekday day off as standard! The house is spotless, the laundry baskets are empty. I was even on my hands and knees scrubbing floors. I'm a person who's really in the "tidy house tidy mind" camp, feel like I can take on the world just because the hob is streak free :rotfl:
Spent a little time over coffee swatting up on the breed of dog we might be getting. OH has downgraded his threat from completely leaving me to "we'll still be together, we just won't live together" if we were to get another dog. Also been looking at insurance cost, food, etc etc! (which reminded me to check Ryder's insurance renewal and I should be able to half the cost this year - it doubled as he had an accident just before he turned 2)
Excited for pancakes round 2! Please please tell me someone, somewhere, out there reading this has ketchup and salt on theirs too?!0 -
Oooh I love a bargain, even if it's not for me! 12 x 50ml bottles for £6, the equivalent of 4 full-size bottles so a saving of £14! Huzzah! And an arm-full of purple furry scrunchies that came in the giftset too!
I'm going very OTT with the pink and feathers and lovely stuff!OH is going as Y2J, complete with flashing (DIY!) leather jacket and I've talked him into growing his hair out and going extra blonde! Wonder if sun-in has gotten better in the last 15 years?!
Hope your sister is OK. Must be a crappy shock to the system for her
We had pancakes with crumbled up Twirls and golden syrup for lunch. Yummy! No savoury nonsense here!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
