It's with the company he interviewed with, Shrimpy
And thanks Ruby! The house move won't be until Summer 2016 (at a guess) but it's exciting to have a goal in mind and a fresh idea of what we'll be able to get for our money!
It is indeed the doughnut place tonight!Although I've decided to go for a mac and cheese hot dog. So exciiiited. Hope I can be good enough the rest of the week food-wise that I still have a good loss on the scales

Morning everyone!
Had a lovely weekend. Tea on Friday came to £50, which I thought was pretty good as we split the bill 3-ways for 8 people eating. Everyone had a few drinks, main and pudding too. Totally worth not having two date nights during the month to stick to our budget.
Also I'm super happy to report that the car hunt was FINALLY A SUCCESS!! We pick Winston (named for anniversary reasons) up tomorrow evening and I'm just so excited. It's a 2011 Clio Estate, and the gadgets in it are already blowing my mind. Not only is the heater working, the windows electric with a.. CD player?! But it has a built in satnav. What a time to be alive.
Our plan was to pay in full for the car with our savings, but as we were offered 12 months interest free loan so we can make our money work for us a little longer, we went for that option instead.
So it was a pretty spendy weekend. Bought a dog guard for the new car (it was £20 off and exactly what I was after) and a boot guard which was on sale too. Then two, probably not necessary but cute, air fresheners to spruce Winston up.
Not completely related but I did order Ryder a new harness too, just as with the new car we'll be taking him to more public places so wanted something we can sticker warnings too (as in, "might possibly eat your children" "bear-hugs" "is oddly scared of small white dogs will cry with fear" etc)
Not a lot to update money wise so far, OH's wages are paid in 10 days so that's when we can boost the deposit potMy wages are just ticking over in my account (now back in the black :j) although I will need to set up insurance and everything for the new car tomorrow evening.

What are these electric windows you speak of? Lol, Winston sounds lovely and I hope you're all very happy together. My car's called Dave and even though I keep thinking I'd love a new car, Dave has some personality and I couldn't part from him just yet.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Lots of positive news! Glad you found a new car. What did your OH decide to do about the interview? What is it he actually does now?
Is this looking to buy in the village you're in now or somewhere else? Will you still be near your family? Can we see a rightmove link of the kind of house you're thinking of? - I love me some house !!!!!!. Wow that was a lot of questions for one post so now I'm filling up space so I sound less excitable. I only just discovered there is a punctuation symbol to take the place of writing '?!?!' - ‽ - it's called an interobang, I feel my life was empty for now knowing this until now.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I felt the same about my old car, Ruby! But feeling super unsafe driving a few weeks ago was the driving (hoho) force behind pushing on with a new car.
Sorted insurance and breakdown cover tonight, only managed to get cashback on one but that's fine and better than nothing
I had no idea there was even such a thing as a ‽‽ (!!) our lives are changing!
OH currently works as a "business consultant" selling "computer software" to major companies. So when you get that annoying call after ditching a basket on a website... (well, maybe hello from OH, there are another few companies selling variations on the technology!) But at his new job he'll just be monitoring website traffic and "tracking trends" for a national company. Sorry to be so vague! He's still got another few months at his current job before the switch
And sorry for all the quotes, I'm basically typing as OH tells me (for the 1058th time) what he does to keep the roof over our heads.
Houses I can do! We'll be moving back to my hometown, and despite being a year away from moving I currently have three houses on my mind -
House Number One! - At the absolute tippy top could-make-it-work-if-this-is-the-dream house. Needs all the work in the world doing but look at the features! (plus the bonus of my parents being just doors away and having enough space to move other family members in if we ever needed to)
House Number Two! - The compromise. New build (OH's deal) but cute enough (in my opinion) that I'm not mad about it.
House Number Threeee - My personal favourite considering the first is impossible. And a compromise that leans more in my favour.0 -
Ooooh loving the house p0rn Cinny! One is awesome but three is my favourite - just looks like a home. Love the big bay window in the lounge!
And also loving our new punctuation mark! Who knew?Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
I can see why you'd fall in love with number 1, that's an amazing house. It's massive though and a full time job to keep clean. You would need a lot of little people to get lost in it.
I like the layout of number 2 but it seems a lot of money for the space compared to number 3 which has a nice garden and more character. I'd go for number 3 too, although preferably a run down version you could buy cheaply and do the work on and make it really yours.shrimpy_80 wrote: »And also loving our new punctuation mark! Hi Cinny I am in north Notts too. Retford has some amazing houses, it will be interesting to see what is around come the moment.0

Can see why you love house #3, it's lovely! A lot of house for your money.
I love #1 too but it needs a lot of work and Dinah's right about it being a full time job to keep clean!
Hurrah for finding a new car! I hope you have many happy years with Winston!
As I was reading your explanation of what your OH does I was just getting images of Friends- Rachel shouting 'He's a transponster!' in answer to the question 'What does Chandler do for a living?' :rotfl: It's pretty much how OH sees my job, he doesn't know what I do, nor does he really care!
I was aware of this magical interrobang, but I don't know how to get it... I hope next gen keyboards have it on!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Did someone mention property !!!!!!
? New to this thread so no right to comment - but I will anyway! No. 3 for me - lovely spacious rooms and bright and cheery - but I'd be wanting it with a bigger garden. Plenty of time yet for the right house to decide to make itself available :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
