We were away for our romantic weekend to celebrate 2nd anniversary - and mr mkf proposed :T
We will probably wait until after junior mkf makes an appearance.
Tempting to do it before hand - but not sure i have the energy or funds to be honest.
Well, that's me in tears

Huge congratulations to you and your intended. DS1 was 10 months old when I married Mr Watcher. He and his Dad had matching waistcoats. Cute overload.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Hiya,
I had GBS in all 3 of my pregnancies, well saying that I only tested positive in my 1st pregnancy after having a routine high swab taken because I was feeling a lot of pain at 34 weeks, after that all pregnancies are presumed that you are GBS positive without being tested as it can come and go and so even if you give a negative test there is no saying that it will not return just before labour.
Unfortunately they do not test routinely in this country although most other countries do, there are petitions about this, if you see one sign it!! You can buy a home test for about £30 but it's not pleasent and quite uncomfortable as you have to do it yourself or ask your partner to do it for you (), plus there are some risks involved as you are taking a swab from your cervix.
You are lucky that they have found it and now have no reason to panic as they will treat you with antibiotics as soon as you go into labour. The only problem is that you will probably have to go into hospital much earlier than you would've normally as they have to give at least 2 doses of antibiotics (through a drip in your arm) 4 hours apart. I was unlucky (?) with my 3rd as she arrived in 3 hours from start to finish and so only had time for 1 dose. Problem was that she was born on a Saturday morning and so the labs were shut so they couldn't do her blood test straight away, so we had to stay in hossie till monday with her having anti'b's through a drip every 4 hours just in case. Better safe than sorry though.
Good luck, you will be fine and you are in a lot better position that those than don't know about it as it can be nasty. Take a look at the website that was posted higher up on this thread, gives you all the info, but don't let it scare you too much.
Good luck

OOOOOHHHHHH MARRIAGE PROPOSALS AND A BABY!!!!!!
I am crying like baby here
congratulations to the both of youProud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
I thought you might all like an update - I am now officially 9 weeks pregnant :T
And i'm finding it hard not to get really excited - I get my scan 2 weeks on Friday so I'm really looking forward to that.
At least if all is well (every part of my body crossed) then we can tell everyone which will be great.
Still feeling very under the weather which I wish I had taken into consideration before I undertook a train journey taking 8 hours last week. GNER toilets are not a place you want to spend a lot of time lol
The worst part at the moment is my bloating - all my trousers feel tight and uncomfortable and at this rate i will be in maternity clothes in week 12 lol
However my OH is so so happy
and is treating me like glass which is some ways is lovely and sweet but can drive me crazy.
My hormones are still causing havoc and i ended up in tears watching tv today (the programme wasnt even sad) :rotfl:
Will keep everyone up-to-date. Havent started contributing to the pregnancy forum yet - dont want to jinx the scan - but see you all soon.0 -
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Proposal and a little one due!! How exciting!
Look forward to hearing how the scan goes
