Last time we had GiffGaff on an iPhone, data was snailpace slow even in strong O2 signal areas. Does GiffGaff offer 4g? Only then would data speed caps mean anything. The non-integrated voicemail was also a real annoyance.

    Xhamster?
  • giffgaff consulted with their customers before the change and there was thousands of comments and giffgaff seemed to take into account peoples views. They say that the majority of their customers aren't affected. one of the good things about them is the free calls/ texts, so many of ours friends and family are on it and the kids can have use it for either the simple pay as you go plan (they are cheapest) or the cheap goodybag and you don't have to worry about them not being able to call you.

It would. You'd just end up paying.

That pic has been flaoting around XDA Dev website for a while.

Yep, I posted it asking if there was a way to stop the data warning coming up when I am on an unlimited tariff.

    Three is actually UNLIMITED

Only a small proportion of the amount is tethered, its mainly streaming

I doubt that capacity is possible on GG even if they let you, the internet on GG was soooooooo slow! I signed up to Three on the £15 per month one plan with unlimited data and get 4G or H+ speeds around 30mbps. I could only dream of 3mbps on GG/O2

I am glad they don't. Imagine if everyone wanted that kind of usage the infrastructure would have to be hugely expensive and we would all have to pay for it with very large tariffs. As it is this kind of usage is being subsidised by low users paying the same tariffs.

On the topic of the thread - winner or loser, winner!
My son is on the £7.50 bag which is all he needs, his mum on the £10 one, all she needs and free calls between them so no change. The only change is an improvement as all the people hammering the data will be priced off elsewhere hopefully leaving a better service for people that don't spend 20 hours a day watching youtube or whatever.

Except Three does have the infrastructure to deal with it, they have back haul deals with both Openreach and Virgin Media (the Virgin deal was signed to boost the backup after 4G was launched).

O2 (and therefore Giffgaff) have spent peanuts on network improvement, that is why the network is so slow and easily congested in many areas.

Not to mention the dropped calls on motorways

Well I was going to switch to three but am staying with giffgaff.

No three signal in my house or surrounding area, despite what the coverage checker may suggest, so it is a non-starter.

Will just have to up my goodybag to £15.
