My wife has perfect credit history, I have not. She applied for something the other day and was turned down. Is this because of me?
She has never defaulted or been late ever.

She needs to check her credit files to see what is on them, and whether you are on there as a financial association.
If you are it could have an impact. Depends on the type of credit and creditor as to whether they take account of associations.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Have just had a look at the free ones, there is nothing on there at all, all fine.
Yet the credit score shows 3 out of 5???????? But I read elswhere this is just to try and get you to spend money on them getting you a higher score? Is that right?
So why is my wife being turned down a credit application when the credit agencies show no defaults of anything?0 -
Are you financially associated?

What's her credit history like? What credit accounts does she currently hold and how long has she held them and has she always paid on time?Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Her credit history is fine, no defauls or even late payments ever.
It must be becasue of my credit file that she is being turned down credit?0 -
Have you checked whether you are associated on your reports?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

On the sub-menu it normally says categories like 'electoral role', 'financial accounts', 'public information' and there will also be one there that says 'connections & other names'. This is the bit you need to check on your wife's account.
May also be worth viewing all the history on the accounts. It's easy to forget a payment was a little late if it happened back in 2009 etc, there may be other reasons why she was rejected.
Hope you find what your looking for.
