  • Possibly - still made £7-8 profit though , will monitor the situations as / when they occur again and may take a different stance next time this arises
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)
  • Really good advice on this thread for people in similar situations. If you pay up a partial refund the buyer will just move on to the next "victim".

I don't understand why the OP asked for advice then completely ignored it, I must be missing something.

Advice can be taken or leaving or partially adapted to differing situations -with not having a definitive set of rules for what Ebay might do or will do in any situation I made a choice

    - cant see how I could prove that the item wasn't in that condition when sent and if Ebay give them 2 weeks to send item back ( why? ) to use any way they want ,then send me back a sweat stained old rag in effect , that I could not re sell ,total refund ,meaning I would lose £3.20 postage anyways and get a negative with " stinking of sweat ,covered with dog hairs" probably in the feedback ( which must have some if only a little impact on future sales )......seems best of a bad situation to me ,blocked them , moved on...

  • blocked them , moved on...

Fair enough! Agree with the sentiment.
  • Thanks for guidance all !

Update - they have accepted the lower £3.99 partial refund I offered ,through Ebay ( must have really wanted that shirt ! )

    - seems a bit daft now looking at it arguing about £3.99 and £4.99 refunds ,but thats us Ebayers for you !!

To be honest when sellers like you giving in to blatant blackmail it encourages others buyers to try it on. You should have stuck to your guns and refused a partial.
