Update - They have now opened a case , stating it was not as described and wanting a partial refund - even after I have offered them a full refund on return twice and they have already left positive feedback for the item ?As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

Actually to add a bit more history to the case - they originally messaged me after purchase ,saying that they couldn't send payment as the invoice was asking for postal payment - which they thought should have been by free post - but they didn't read the description properly ,which reads " buy two items ,pay for only one postage "
To me it seems blatantly obvious , that they didnt bother reading all the description regards postal discount and are now intent on getting the postage back ,plus a couple of quid on top for good measure ,all because they couldn't be asked to read the listing properlyAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

In the case, tick return for refund option. You are not obligated to issue a partial refund.0

Just leave them. You've told them to return for refund, nothing more you can do. Just ignore any further messages. They are clearly after a freebie.0

I was at the PO the other week and a customer said "can i just have my parcel back a minute please - there's an hair on the packing and the buyer will want a partial refund".
Think i was the only person who was thinking how true - the rest just laughed.
Tick the box for a return - don't give in. At least your feedback is safe.
Not sure where you stand on defect if they don't return it.0 -
Further update to this saga - sorry ! - my mistake about them already leaving feedback - they havnt yet ( I was looking at the listing below that one )
Ok I offered to partial refund for "dry cleaning" but not the £4.99 asked for, offered £3.99
- they reply "we want £4.99"
replied - please send it back for full refund ( third time of asking )
- they reply "we want money in my bank before we send it "
loosing the plot now with these people = will be negged for sure but Im just about past caring to be honest .......any help .......please ?!.....As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

Take the advice already offered. If they escalate the case eBay will tell them to return it at those own cost for a full refund, don't talk to them anymore, just tick the box for a full refund on return.thepedestrian wrote: »Further update to this saga - sorry ! - my mistake about them already leaving feedback - they havnt yet ( I was looking at the listing below that one )

They're probably working on you thinking paying £4.99 is worth it to stop arguing with them. So don't argue with them anymore

They have stated in two messages that if I dont " cough up " before they return it , they will wait until 10 th October to "get my money back from Paypal " - whats that all about ?
- why the 10th October ?? ,are they saying they can wear it for a month then get auto refunded ?As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !
