Sent a shirt out ,the other week to someone who had won it , a few days later got an Ebay message that the shirt was received , but covered in dog hairs and stinking of sweat / unwashed ( nice ! )
said I was sorry that this had happened ( through gritted teeth ) - I distinctly remembered the item as being in a very clean / unworn / fresh condition - told them that I do not have any pets and that as the detailed close up pictures in the listing showed ,it was very clean - but would issue a full refund ,with all postage costs if they would like to return it - they then pointed out one picture in the listing that had one solitary 1cm hair on it
Sent my return details again , repeating full refund will be given and apologising for that ONE hair , then nothing, then suddenly a positive feedback from them saying " Many thanks - all ok " ( dsr unaffected )
!!!!!! ??

Something that was being discussed at work on Monday was that sometimes a simple 'I am sorry' is all an upset person needs.
Maybe it was as simple as that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Stick to your guns, apologise again and tell them to return for a full refund, don't even mention the dry cleaning.
The more they ask the more you apologise and offer a full refund. It will drive them up the wall
but as they have left feedback they cAn only now open a case and get told to return it anyway. Advise you are happy to refund upon receipt.0

Good points - something like this maybe ?......
Hi - sorry I dont think Ebay rules will allow for a partial refund on an item that you have agreed was acceptable by leaving positive feedback for - you can still return to me at my address given previously for a refund though
Apology's again
RegardsAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

Liklihood is a buyer like this knows full well partial refunds are possible.
Be polite and brief "As before, I am happy to refund in full upon return of item."0 -
Annoying to think that this might be the way things are trending on Ebay though ,in that they purchase an item and they really like it - but think they would like it a lot more if they could have it for nothing !
