Having lost a friend to cervical cancer one of the things that got bought up during her search for WHY and HOW ? was that in countries where circumcision is very common, cervical cancer figures are very very low. surely this gives something to work on ? ?
Not really, it would be necessary to look at all factors before making assumptions. You can tell the greatest lies with statistics by picking out the bits you want. Apart from the circumcision issue this tells us nothing about the sexual proclivities of these countries.0 -

'Freakonomics' is a great book which gives a bit of an insight into interpreting statistics.
I thought they'd decided now that cervical cancer was brought on by exposure to HPV? As they now have a 'cervical cancer jab' for girls, I thought it was a done deal...? (and all those smear tests I had were pointless )My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

I have read this thread and the previous one and I have probably missed it, but if this "disgusting bit of hanging skin" is so useless that it has to be removed. Why are men born with it?
I mean this as a serious question. After all most bits of our body are pretty useful, appendix apart, and i do understand why we dont need our appendix anymore.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
As an ex nurse, I can assure you that there are foreskins that 'hang'!
It is not a pretty site! Men complain about droopy boobs, well, some women don't like foreskins that 'hang'! :rotfl:
That said, my oldest son was circumcised at 4 due to a narrowing of the foreskin. Just couldn't retract it. My youngest son has a perfectly formed, neat foreskin that shouldn't cause any future problems.
I think circumcise only when medically necessary.
I posted this on the other thread. I had a previous partner with a v. long elephants trunk fs and it was gross. Even he hated it and had been teased by a previous girlfriend and called Rumpleforeskin.
Yes most fs are neat and just protect the end etc. but nature does sometimes become excessive in some areas. If someone had a ginormous nose that upset them, you would not criticize them for having a nose job would you?
As for routinely circumcising all boy babies, that is another matter.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Sorry if I'm being insensitive to the chap concerned, but I think that's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time! :rotfl:0 -

I just spat out my drink all over the keyboard! :rotfl:
The thing i really can't understand here (and the original threads) i why some blokes who have had it removed miss it. Mine was removed at 5 and i can't even imagine there begin anything extra, let alone missing it.0 -

My son had a urine infection at four months old he had to go back to hospital for 3 different types of tests one of these was to put a tube up his penis and feed some dye through it to see if any flow back would occur to his kidneys he was about 6 months old and he screamed the place down they said he has a very tight foreskin they couldn't get it back he screamed the place down and after three attempts and me leaving him with my mum while I left the room in tears I stopped it and he had to go back a second time fortunately they were sucessful first attempt and he had the test done but they said there is a possibility he will need to be circumcised but they said they will wait till he gets older it still wont go back but I don't want him circumcised if he has too then he has too but I'm not happy about it my second son seems OK but only 18wks so not too sure:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011
