if there is already a thread in the regs board there shouldn't really be a dupe every week on the main board :)

The problem seems to be people are missing out as newbies don't find the sub boards, just a thought but is this going to be a problem in the postals get a sub board? will newbies ever find it? :)

Exactly what I was trying to say on the voting thread.

Newbies & even some people who have been comping from the main comp board for a long time don't know where the daily threads are.

As you know I don't enter them, but I never ever looked at the sticky at the top of the main comp board how it used to be set up.

Now the postal thread was un stuck it goes up & down the main comp board & I often now have a look & see what comps are posted there, something I never did before.

While I can understand that it's a hassle for the people who post on the thread to find the thread through the one sticky on the main comp board it gives more people the chance to see the thread & enter them if they want to or if not then just let it pass you by.

See even though I don't use the postal thread I still have an opinion on it & it is as valid as any other members thoughts.

OK, I was only trying to help by suggesting that the weekly comps go on the main board.

In that case I think there should be one rule for all these comps - the point I was making was that I didn't understand why eg. Patisserie Valerie was on the regs board but eg. Wallis was posted weekly on the main board.

Whatever way you want it to be done, it should be the same rule applied to all comps that fall into that bracket.

It strikes me as a bit of a paradox that there was all the furore last year about mag dailies having to be on the main board and people up in arms cos they were hidden away in the mag daily thread, yet I think these few weekly comps are far more hidden away where they are but it seems it's been decided that they've to stay there??

Surely to avoid dupes, the original thread could be expired??

I agree they should be posted on the main comp board & taken off the regular section.

Regarding a Postal, Text & Phone sub-forum, it would be hard to miss if it was laid out like the 2nd pic

You would be surprised by how many people don't know where the Regulars board is so it would be the same for the postal sub board

If the postal thread is left where it is now everyone see's it because it goes up & down the main comp board

Not true, only people who have the main competition board sorted by newest post will see it moving. People who sort by newest thread or popularity will not.

Everyone has to scroll past all of the sub-boards to get to the main board.

Is the Regulars board hard to find or do people just not care about it as much as the other areas?

I don't have to scroll through the sub boards to see the main comp board when I come onto the comp board my first view is of the main board, I have to scroll up to see the sub boards.

"Is the Regulars board hard to find or do people just not care about it as much as the other areas?"

Bit of both I would think, also the people who don't have time to venture further than the main comp board won't see them to enter.

"Not true, only people who have the main competition board sorted by newest post will see it moving. People who sort by newest thread or popularity will not."

There will never be a option that will suit everyone.

I still think more people will see the thread when it's on the main board instead of a sub board

I agree Painkiller, sub boards should be easy to see but one thing that does get brought up a lot is that the regs board is 'hidden away' so I wondered if the same would happen with a postals sub board?
I wasn't saying that they should continue as they are, just debating how they can be posted so that as many people as possible get to see and enter them, maybe that's a sub board, maybe staying as they are or maybe it's having them all posted separately on the main board?? :)

Having no thread for postal comps & just post each one on the main comp board with (Postal) written in the title would be a better option then everyone will see them however they access the board on the main comp board
