    Yes I was surprised at the figures too, but the money was paid direct to me from the HE into my bank account. when they first moved in they were receiving approximately £330 every four weeks but then over the course of a few months this went up to £535 every four weeks. I should add this figure also includes rates.

    I thought it strange that they received so much money giving all their kids were over 18.

    Interesting, you must qualify to the higher rated area.

    Looking at the link provided above, house located in BT80 and is a four bed house so they should be entitled to £110 per week max. I suppose the extra must have come from the rates?

    They could possibly be receiving a discretionary HB top-up.

    tenants may also get a discretionary payment .I know one person who gets a discretionary payment of £15 per week .I know another person who gets a discretionary payment of £7 per week on top of other payments .
