You learn something new every day.
If it went missing, would RM accept a signed for reference number when it hasn't gone through the PO?0 -

No chance. If it goes missing then the barcode means nothing.
One caveat would be if it went missing after a delivery attempt. As you would have a scan,so possibly.0 -

Well that's up to the sender isn't it?
Many people post items in the post box without COP.
The fact is you can.0 -

That was not the original (off topic) question. I have signed for orange slips here, there is nothing at all to stop me putting one on the packet and putting it in the post box. However I wouldn't have proof of posting. Just having an orange slip on the packet doesn't mean it went via a Post office - which was the original (sort of) question.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. "This is related to postage, where I paid to upgrade my service but didn't receive it..... I purchased this item on Wednesday evening and paid an extra £4.95 to have it sent first class as I required it by Sunday. I received a notification on Thursday telling me it had been dispatched first class and the estimated delivery date was Friday 5th September. The item was not delivered until today (Monday 8th September), which was 3 working days later, the timescale is consistent with second class postage. Upon further inspection, under the tracking label (which is attached by the Post Office), there is a second class franking stamp. (photo attached in which you can see the end of the sellers ebay username and also my delivery address) I queried this with the seller and asked for a refund of my £4.95 that I paid to upgrade my postage from 2nd to 1st class but he is refusing, saying the parcel WAS sent first class, yet the postage label and delivery timescale proves otherwise. I hoped to reach an amicable solution with the seller but we seem to have reached a deadlock with this, so I have no other option but to open this case. All I want it a refund for a service I paid for but didn’t receive. ""
Rather a wast of time adding all that to a dispute, you must keep it simple and short, so IF any ebay employee actually reads it, they can understand it.19lottie82 wrote: »which is why im going to give them a call tonight, as they're usually quite helpful.
you seem to be spending a lot of time on this, just neg & move on, do you really want to go through the hassle/possible expence of returning an item you are actually happy with. is your spare time chasing seller/trip to post office really worth less than £5 to you, its very easy to get blinkered into being "right" on ebay and losing track of the big picture :-(
when you leave feedback, make sure you follow the ebay rules so seller cant get it removed.
just out of interest how much do the ebay phone calls cost ? freephone ?0 -
