No chance. If it goes missing then the barcode means nothing.
One caveat would be if it went missing after a delivery attempt. As you would have a scan,so possibly.

I did, so whats the point of paying recorded and putting in post box if you have no comeback if it goes missing?

Many people post items in the post box without COP.
The fact is you can.

That was not the original (off topic) question. I have signed for orange slips here, there is nothing at all to stop me putting one on the packet and putting it in the post box. However I wouldn't have proof of posting. Just having an orange slip on the packet doesn't mean it went via a Post office - which was the original (sort of) question.

Rather a wast of time adding all that to a dispute, you must keep it simple and short, so IF any ebay employee actually reads it, they can understand it.

you seem to be spending a lot of time on this, just neg & move on, do you really want to go through the hassle/possible expence of returning an item you are actually happy with. is your spare time chasing seller/trip to post office really worth less than £5 to you, its very easy to get blinkered into being "right" on ebay and losing track of the big picture :-(

when you leave feedback, make sure you follow the ebay rules so seller cant get it removed.

just out of interest how much do the ebay phone calls cost ? freephone ?
