As they cannot force a partial refund I suspect they will either offer you a pre paid sticker for return, or just suggest you work with your seller to resolve this. When the case is escalated the only option will be for you to return the goods.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't get how 1st class cost £5 more - its about 50p.
Maybe seller meant to price it out of range so no-one chose it. I don't offer 1st class due to ebays unreasonable timescales.
Out of curiosity - did the item arrive in the stated time? You haven't said what the stated dispatch time was.
Either way though - 1st class should have been used if paid for. Seller should have refunded.0 -
I dont see the problem at all, you got your item, it came 2 days after it was posted, Why does it matter if it was sent by carrier pigeon or it was hand delivered or what! If it was sent first class its likely you still wouldnt have got it until monday, Only special delivery would have been guaranteed before0

eh?
Can I come round your house then and you can just give me a £5 note ??
The buyer paid an extra £5 for first class delivery.. and then the item was sent second class - which the seller offered for free.
"Why it matters" is that the buyer was completely ripped off for a fiver.0 -

No it didn't.glentoran99 wrote: »Why does it matter if it was sent by carrier pigeon or it was hand delivered or what!
Because I paid an extra £5 for a service I didn't receive.glentoran99 wrote: »If it was sent first class its likely you still wouldnt have got it until monday, Only special delivery would have been guaranteed before
Wrong. I know first class doesn't guarantee next day delivery, but it usually happens I think the official figure is about 95%. However, I paid for first class with a 2 working days window. Again, I know this isn't guaranteed, but if it was sent first class as requested, during the advertised dispatch window, but didn't arrive in time I obviously wouldn't have any problem with the seller.
Do you see what the problem is now?0 -

Where do I get my receipt from and how do RM know it is in the system?
And what happens if it goes amiss? Will RM take my word for it that I posted it when I quote the ref number from the label even though there is no record of it in the system and I have no proof that it was actually posted?
Yes you can,and no you dont get a receipt.
However you stated the had to go to a PO. Which many dont0 -

I didn't state they had to go to a PO, that was someone else.
So, to clarify. When posting an item that is signed for, it does not have to go via the PO, you can just add the postage and put it in a post box with a signed for label?0 -
