What kind of case did you open? You can't claim INR or SNAD and there is no option to open a case for 'postage incorrect'.0 -

No they dont. They can go in post boxes or be collected.
So does this mean that I can get signed for labels from the PO, put enough stamps on it to cover the postage cost and the additional signed for cost and then just pop it in the post box?
Where do I get my receipt from and how do RM know it is in the system?
And what happens if it goes amiss? Will RM take my word for it that I posted it when I quote the ref number from the label even though there is no record of it in the system and I have no proof that it was actually posted?0 -
Definitely mark them down with postage and give feedback on the lines of.....`paid extra for faster postage but this was not actioned`.
I don't think you can get a signed for receipt from the Post Office without going in there.0 -

Hi Soolin, I wasn't really sure, so I went for "item not as described", and the "other" option.
Not really that the item it's self was mis described, but wasn't sure what to go with.
If I don't get anywhere fair enough, but I have to try as I have effectively been robbed of £5!
I will lead appropriate feedback once the dispute has been settled.0 -

At some point in the dispute you will have to state what was wrong with the item, that allows seller to respond. Normally eBay will find for the buyer regardless, at which point you will be asked to return it fully tracked to get a full refund. I am not sure what that would achieve.
Seller already has a defect so even a worry about poor feedback or stars is not going to be that much of a concern to him as only 1 defect per transaction counts.
Personally as a seller, I would have refunded if this had been my error, however, this seller has chosen to perhaps be a little difficult but if I were him now I would defend the SNAD and just insist hat the item be returned for a full refund. now that seller has a defect he has very little to lose- and regardless of that you never had the right to a partial refund, you can ask in the dispute but I can't see the seller agreeing now.

Many years ago, I purchased an item from an ebay business seller and the listing stated that they would accept returns within 14 days. (buyer pays return postage, which I was happy with).
The item wasn't suitable so I contacted them asking for details on how to return the item and they didn't respond.
I e-mailed them 3 times before contacting paypal and they advised me to open a SNAD as the listing stated returns allowed but clearly the seller didn't want to abide by this.
Paypal then asked me to return the goods and I was issued a full refund (minus return postage which I was going to pay for anyway).
I don't see that the case in hand is any different.
A service was paid for but the supplied service was a different (cheaper) one, therefore part of the overall purchase was not as described.0 -
In the dispute what did you state was wrong with the item you received?
From my dispute statement
"This is related to postage, where I paid to upgrade my service but didn't receive it..... I purchased this item on Wednesday evening and paid an extra £4.95 to have it sent first class as I required it by Sunday. I received a notification on Thursday telling me it had been dispatched first class and the estimated delivery date was Friday 5th September. The item was not delivered until today (Monday 8th September), which was 3 working days later, the timescale is consistent with second class postage. Upon further inspection, under the tracking label (which is attached by the Post Office), there is a second class franking stamp. (photo attached in which you can see the end of the sellers ebay username and also my delivery address) I queried this with the seller and asked for a refund of my £4.95 that I paid to upgrade my postage from 2nd to 1st class but he is refusing, saying the parcel WAS sent first class, yet the postage label and delivery timescale proves otherwise. I hoped to reach an amicable solution with the seller but we seem to have reached a deadlock with this, so I have no other option but to open this case. All I want it a refund for a service I paid for but didn’t receive. ""0
