MyCSP incompetence

• I'm currently at the end of my rope with MyCSP.

Around four years ago I was diagnosed with a degenerative condition. I've had numerous surgical procedures in an attempt to stave off or at least slow down the progression of my illness but in September of last year I had deteriorated to the point where my doctor had to sign me off work indefinitely.

With the help of my employer I applied to Capita for retirement on grounds of ill health and all my medical history and case notes were forwarded on. In February this year I received Capita's decision and my application had been refused as they perceived that a cure might be found before my official retirement age, I'm currently 48 years old.

Obviously I appealed against their decision and forwarded further medical evidence and also met with one of Capita's medical advisors so that they could prod and poke me in person. At the beginning of July this year Capita upheld my appeal and my employer forwarded all my details including my official retirement date of 16th August.

I was totally unaware that MyCSP had taken over administration of Civil Service Pensions until I received a benefits statement at the beginning of this month. They have also told me that my case will not be addressed until next year. In the meantime I have depleted what savings I had. My car, my only form of mobility, is off the road as I can no longer afford to run it. Due to my mobility issues I'm unable to attend hospital appointments effectively placing me at the back of the cue for a surgery I've already been waiting two years for.

I've been on the phone with MyCSP at least three times a week since receiving the initial letter at the beginning of this month and they are totally indifferent to my situation. I've even written to Francis Maude, MP, whose name has cropped up in numerous press reports detailing the failings of MyCSP, and I've yet to receive any form of acknowledgement.

This morning I spoke with the Pensions Ombudsmen and they have advised me to follow the example of the previous poster and to write a formal letter to MyCSP detailing my intentions to raise my claim to a Stage 1DR.

I'm also looking into how I can make my situation more public as the anger and despair exceeds my vocabulary.

Regards

• I sympathise - my problems were insignificant compared to the previous post. The Guardian has been publishing stories on MyCSP (see link below). Perhaps you should contact the journalist Jane Dudman?

http://www.theguardian.com/public-leaders-network/2014/nov/08/flagship-government-mutual-holds-up-payments-to-pensioners

The formal proedure to complain is:

1. Write to MyCSP CEO, N Hurst by Signed For Delivery marked Private and give her a dealine to reply to your complaint. I wouldn't bother complaining to anyone else since you will probably be ignored.
2. If [1] fails, send a formal Stage 1 IDR complaint to MyCSP who have to respond in writing within 3 months.
3. If [2] fails, send a formal Stage 2 IDR complaint to the Cabinet Office.
4. If [3] fails, appeal to the Pension Ombudsman.

I would also in parallel write now to your MP requesting your case to be raised with the Minister for the Civil Service (David Cameron) and Minister for the Cabinet Office (Francis Maude).

Radio 4 MoneyBox and the web journal Professional Pensions have also been running stories on MyCSP and you may wish to contact them.

Have you asked the hospital about transport? There is often a volunteer service?
• I have also had appalling service from MyCSP- ignoring repeated e-mails,phone calls, and even formal letters of complaint to their CEO.The only way to grab their attention is to copy your complaining e-mails to the cabinet office, then things really begin happening.

Or,to get past the call-takers at MyCSP contact Ian Merga,Chief Operating Officer,MyCSP.

I went on LINKEDIN MYCSP you can see who the people are on the Updates page. I posted a LIKE(not) against another person who I worked out was the customer for Fair Treatment to Customers.
I told her I was sending a Stage 1 IDR to the CEO. After 8 weeks of no information I received a phone call and pension quote the next morning from a Rachel Mc Gown, Referrals Department. E mail is referrals@mycsp.co.uk she told me it was .com makes you wonder???
I did mention the Guardian Newspaper would possibly be interested in my case.

E-mailed my scanned forms back to them actually received this Saturday, 2 days from the phone. Sending originals tomorrow.
fingers crossed. Pension due on 13th December.

I have started a petition against MYCSP the more people that sign it the more they may act. Here is the Link

send me an e-mail al.wardle@hotmail.com subject it mycspchaos
i will give you a contact e-mail that may help, no promises. By the way I don't work for them and had a very stressful 8 weeks trying to get a quote which I know they already had.
Past the link around.
• I have started a e-petition against MYCSP. I am not allowed to put the link here. Has anyone ideas as to where I can put it to best effect?

Presumably the petition at this link - http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/72303

But the responsible Department is Cabinet Office, not Dept. for Work and Pensions.

Farehamgardener - we are almost neighbours! The e-petition is a great idea but it needs to reference the Cabinet Office who place the contract on MyCSP to deliver Civil Service Pensions.

In all of this debate I have seen no explanation of why MyCSP terminated their sub-contract with Capita, whether the Cabinet Office agreed to the transfer and what planning was taken to manage the transition (events suggest probably none).

I am trying to help a friend whose retired civil service husband died beginning of August
She sent death certificate to Capita and it was duly returned
She has E Mailed My CSP and received a reply stating due to re organisation there were delays
She phoned them yesterday after I did some research and they promised to work things out in 5 days
Needless to say reading this and the other thread on them I am not hopeful
come next Wednesday if they have still not sorted out her widows pension I will join the fray
It has been suggested on fool.co.uk that tweeting @RHCabinetOffice is one way fwd
plus contacting ones MP
The whole debacle is a disgrace because my friend is in problems financially and has no idea how much pension she will get
I thought that there should be a widows benefit forecast arrive each year with the P60 but maybe others can tell me

Why should anyone widowed be left waiting for over 3 months to get help
